With one more long kiss, Kell drew Kate out of bed and let her dress while he gathered his own clothes. "I'll meet you in the hall," he murmured, kissing her one last time before he slipped out to go to his own room for fresh clothes.

Kate got dressed quickly before she made her way to the great hall. Everything was already in full swing, both inside and out as Inverness got ready for the wedding. The ceremony would be small, just for her family, but the celebration afterwards was for everyone. It made her smile to think that everyone would be a part of her happy moment.

"There she is." Julia said with a smile as she fed the twins, chuckling as Kate finally entered the great hall and settled down to eat her breakfast. "Your Gran has been working hard this morning to get your dress finished."

Kell silently slipped in to stand at Kate's side, looking around at all the bustle around them. He wasn't one for big celebrations and such, but he was humbled that people were so happy for the two of them. Seeing the twins, he smiled and came to greet them before greeting Julia as well with a kiss to her cheek.

Kate was suddenly seized in a huge embrace as her father came up behind her. "Hiya, love," he murmured.

"Hi, Da." She murmured as he wrapped her up tightly in his arms. "I'm surprised you're not in a puddle of tears yet."

"It's been a chore to keep him positive, love." Julia said with a chuckle as Kell came to see both of the girls.

"I'll be a mess before th'day's through," Brogan sighed, not wanting to let Kate go for a long moment. "We can' postpone all o' this? Wedding an' coronation, maybe another... Twenty years 'r so?"

"No." Kate said as she turned in his arms and held him tightly, leaning her head against his shoulder. "I'll always be your girl though. No matter where I go and what I become."

Brogan sighed and kissed her cheek, holding her a while longer. She could feel his chest a bit tense with emotion, but he took a deep breath and finally let her go. "Alright, sit down an' eat, kids. Then we'll start gettin' ya ready."

Kate looked up at her father with a smile, knowing that today was a difficult day for him. She would have to go easy on the teasing. She kissed his cheek in return as she moved to take her seat, eating the breakfast that was provided without complaint. She laughed as the twins seemed confused at all of the action that was going on in the keep. Ashelin kept pointing things out and asking their Ma what was happening.

"A wedding, love. Kate is getting married." Julia said, kissing Ashelin's cheek gently. "You and Heather get to play a part as well."

It wasn't long before Kitty emerged and Ciaran came to steal Kell away. Kitty looked absolutely ecstatic though she maintained her usual grace. She kissed Kell's cheek before he left and then came to greet Kate with a tight embrace.

"Morning, Gran. Did you manage to get any sleep last night?" Kate asked with a chuckle, knowing that weddings made the woman incredibly happy and nervous. "I can't wait to see what you were able to do with the little glen. It's a special spot for Kell and I."

"I had enough, but I was up a bit late with your poor father," Kitty smiled to Brogan. "He had a bit of a crisis. I think he realized he's old."

"I knew tha' already," Brogan chuckled. "I've only got two children left little enough t'carry around an' coddle. An' they won't be tha' small fer long."

"When i found out I was having the twins, I went through the same. You aren't ready to realize that it's your last shot." Julia commented as she took her husband's hand and squeezed it tightly. "But don't worry, Kate. He was the same way when Annie got married, but he actually likes Kell. He didn't like David until the ceremony was over and done with. Annie stumbled on her way down the aisle and David paused to help her get her footing again. I think that was the moment that proved to your Da that everything would be alright."

Kitty came to kiss her son's cheek before looking between Julia and Kate. "So, are we going to start getting ready?"

"Let's go and work some magic on this scruffy little girl." Julia said, looping her arm through Kate's and giving her daughter a smile. "Your Gran is going to make you the most beautiful bride there has ever been."

"Kell would be head over heels whether Kate's muddy and ragged or all prim and proper," Kitty chuckled, taking Kate's other arm.

"But where's the fun in that?" Julia asked as they walked Kate to the place where her wedding attire waited, Brogan soon joining them with the youngest twins.

Brogan was helping the twins get ready as Kitty and Julia brought out the gown and accessories. Even after seeing two generations before Kate, it still looked immaculate and it was tailored perfectly to fit Kate.

Ashelin was a good little girl, not making a peep as she watched them dress her sister with a sense of awe. Heather was a screaming terror, making life difficult for Brogan in general as he tried to get her into her new little dress. Julia glanced towards her husband from time to time, chuckling at the concerned and slightly stressed look on his face.

"You were once like that." Julia commented as she laced Kate into the gown. "You pitched a fit any time that we tried to get you into a dress."

"That wasn't so long ago that she was still like that," Kitty laughed. "Barely two years back she would still hide from dresses." Kitty slipped past them to give Brogan a gentle shove. "Out of the way, you big lump. Let Gran handle this." She kissed Heather's little cheeks and scooped her up. "Isn't that brute just the worst?" She asked with a smile as Heather began to calm. "It's only for a while, sweetheart. Then once we're done we can get you into your favorite pajamas for a nap."

"Justin made that dress especially for you, love." Julia said as she glanced over towards Kitty and Heather as Heather paused at those words.

"No." She mumbled, leaning her head against her grandmother's shoulder, her little stubborn streaking coming forward. "No, no, no."

"I'll make you a deal, love," Kitty murmured. "Wear this for us just today, and I promise you don't have to wear a dress again if you don't want to for a long while. Alright? Just today."

Heather thought about that offer for a long moment before she finally nodded, lifting her head to hold her hands out for her father again. She was more docile now as he took her and she didn't complain as he got her changed into her little gown.

"Da? Kitty?" She asked, holding out her hands for the little stuffed kitten that was her constant companion.

"Thanks, Ma," Brogan murmured as he got Heather dressed, and he picked up Heather's little stuffed cat. "Right here, love," he kissed her forehead and placed the toy in her arms.

"Have you been training her to be another kitten?" Julia teased Kate as she got the gown finally fitted and the sash about her waist tightened.

"Nope. She's stubborn all on her own." Kate said with a grin towards her mother as she took a seat at the vanity so that they could start work on her hair.

"It's entirely your fault, Brogan." Kitty smiled to her son. "You and your brothers and sisters, you're all terribly stubborn and terrible influences."

"I'll gladly take credit. My little lass doesn' take anythin' without a fight." Brogan kissed Heather's forehead. Kitty turned to help Julia. They tamed Kate's hair down until it was lovely and wavy, and they'd chosen a simple but elegant style to suit the dress and the venue, taking braids from Kate's temples to join into a single braid in the back over a cascade of red.
