Taqu'un smiled at the loving gaze the couple shared, and he said those final sealing words. "As Head Elder of the Gol Dun, I pronounce you husband and wife."

Kell felt his heart nearly burst, and he drew Kate in tight for the most passionate and adoring kiss he could muster, losing his own breath in the process as her whole family applauded and cheered.

Beside Julia, Brogan couldn't decide if he was overjoyed or thoroughly heartbroken. And despite tears, he smiled in a way Julia hadn't seen since their second wedding.

Kate gasped as Kell scooped her up against him, kissing her with a passion as soon as they were announced as husband and wife. She could hardly believe that her wolf was really hers now. She went weak at the knees, gasping as Kell scooped her into his strong and sure arms.

When their lips parted, Kell finally looked up to see her whole family alight with excitement for them, and his grandfather calmly smiling from his place near Brogan and Julia. Kell looked back to Kate with a bright smile, more lively than she had ever seen. "We did it," he whispered.

"Go on and make sure your father doesn't fall apart," Taqu'un chuckled, directing them to their waiting family.

Kate chuckled as Kell whispered to her that they had finally done it. She could hardly believe that he was her husband, but the deal had been sealed. When Taqu'un told them to tend to Brogan, she laughed softly and looked to her father who was wiping away happy tears from his cheeks.

"Da, you promised." Kate said as they left the alter to greet her family.

"I know, Kitten... But I can' help it," Brogan murmured, hugging her tightly as a fresh wave of tears came over him. Kell met his grandfather in an embrace as well, the two sharing a few quiet words in Erygonian before Khelt kissed his grandson's forehead.

"I love you, Da." Kate whispered against her father's ear as he held her tightly, his tears making her chuckle. "Dry your eyes. We have a feast to get to."

Brogan nodded slowly and let her go with a deep breath, Kell offering her his arm. Brogan kept close to Julia, happy but incredibly heartbroken. The whole clan made their way back into town, and found people along the streets shouting congratulations to Kate and Kell and applauding as they went by. Even if the wedding and feast were all for family, the people of Inverness wanted to show their support.

Kate smiled and waved to everyone that they passed, pleased to share her happy day with the people of Inverness. It didn't matter if they were low born or high born, they were all important to the success of her father's kingdom. Each would be given a special small cake to celebrate the occasion, paid for by Marianne and Warwick as a wedding gift to the couple.

Upon their arrival, Chessie immediately had the feast in full swing. Kate's birthday celebration paled in comparison to the sheer selection of food and drink. Musicians from all over were playing off to the side of the room, and each table had beautiful centerpieces of wildflowers and greenery. The keep staff were all waiting with smiles and their best outfits, and set to work right away as the clan found their seats.

Kate and Kell stood in the hall, waiting for the moment that they would be announced for the first time as husband and wife. She gave a smile to her wolf, reaching up to touch his cheek gently as the rest of the family moved to their seats.

"My ring is lovely, Kell. Where did you have it made?" She asked, her eyes drifting to the thin silver band that matched her engagement ring almost seamlessly.

"I didn't have it made. I made it," Kell smiled down at her. "With some guidance from Petu and Urubay in the Gol Dun village."

"You made this?" Kate asked, looking at him in surprise as she took another look at her ring again. "I find it hard to believe that you made something this tiny and delicate."

It was true that she had very small and delicate fingers. Her rings always tended to be tiny, but this one fit her flawlessly.

"It turns out that lock-picking translates well to other delicate tasks," he chuckled, and then whispered against her ear, "I'm good with my hands, love. You've already seen that."

"Don't you dare start that now, Khelt Aleister." Kate said as her cheeks colored under his gaze. "We still have a feast and a party to get through before we can sneak away. I'm not going to have you putting lewd thoughts in my head on my wedding day."

She gave him a grin after she said that and kissed him deeply, sighing as she wrapped her arms around his neck and drew him in close. She still couldn't really believe that she had married him and that she was his wife. It was perhaps the one title that she would wear with pride for the rest of her life.

Kell couldn't help a laugh before she caught him up in a kiss and his arms draped around her waist. Apart from their binding kiss at being wed, it was the first time they'd really kissed each other like that out in the open. It wouldn't happen out in public- they had long since decided their relationship wouldn't be out for everyone to see- but they didn't mind in front of family.

When they parted, it was Khelt who announced them. They had never heard him speak very loudly, but just then, his voice commanded the entire room with only a slight increase in volume. "Lords and Ladies," he began. "May I present the newly-wed Princess Katherine Valencia Ghis-Aleister and Lord Khelt Damien Aleister the Third."

Kate took Kell's hand and grinned, entering the great hall to the applause and cheers of her family and friends. She felt absolutely loved, not only by Kell but by everyone there. She had to chuckle, however, when she saw her twin sisters. Ashelin was wide eyed staring at everything around her, taking in every detail. Heather was sound asleep in Justin's arms without a care in the world. It seemed as if they were polar opposites in every single way.

Kate and Kell approached the head table, taking their seats before the feast went into full swing.

Each branch of the family, knowing Kell and Kate would have everything they needed and wanted in Edinburgh, had brought a wedding gift to adorn Kate's hall. After speaking of her want to represent all of Scotland, they had brought tapestries from different allied clans and counties rich with color and story, or a heraldic shield from a leading house. It was all to help Kate show that she would do her best to be fair and consider all of her allies and vassals.

Kate was overwhelmed as her family presented them with the tapestries that would decorate the hallways of the castle when she was there. They were each beautiful and meaningful. It was the best gift that anyone could have given her, outside of her new Skye shell that she still proudly wore.

After eating, the music really started up. Kate's favorite waltz began to play for her first dance with her new husband, and no doubt another favorite would play after for her and Brogan.

Kate had to laugh as her wolf pulled her out onto the floor, eager to dance with her. She grinned with happiness, holding his hands as he pulled her seemlessly into a lovely little dance. Theirs would be a restrained romance. It had to be in public, but no one would ever doubt that the Queen of Scotland loved her Lord Protector completely.

They would be outwardly different people in the High Court when their time came, reserved and confident and calm. But for now, Kell was comfortable being a lovestruck fool around family and friends who knew them best.

As they danced, Kell smiled down at Kate and stole a kiss here and there. "Have I told you you're absolutely stunning?" He asked softly.

"You can tell me that as often as you'd like." Kate said as he grinned like a fool. "Especially when I'm angry with you over something you've done."

"I've never done a single thing to make you angry," Kell grinned. "Not once." He stole another kiss at that.

"Is that so?" Kate asked as he kissed her again, making her laugh. "Khelt, you can't solve every fight with a kiss. It's just not possible."

"I think it's possible, paired with some sweet words." Kell nuzzled her cheek lovingly. "I'll find a way whenever you feel like being mad at me."
