"Your gran has something for you." Julia said as they finished with her hair. "She got something specially delivered from Skye for today. She had to pull a lot of strings to get it here on time."

Julia turned to present Kate with two items. The first was Kitty's tiara, shined and sparkling in the light. The second was her very own Skye shell.

Brogan came to Kitty's side and looked on in surprise. "Did Matthias find tha' for you?" He asked his mother as he saw the perfectly intact shell that was so rare.

"Gran, it's lovely." Kate said as she looked over the perfectly swirled Skye shell that had just been presented to her.

"Every bride has been given one, save myself. I got her emerald necklace as a gift on my wedding day." Julia said softly as she leaned down and kissed Kate's cheek.

"That's because my shell will be yours one day," Kitty smiled to Julia. "Now, I'm going to go check on Kell and the boys and make sure they all let Ciaran do his job. I've never seen a wedding be on time, but we may actually be early."

Kate hugged and kissed her grandmother's cheek, letting her run off to tend to the last minute details as she enjoyed time with her parents and youngest sisters. She laughed until her belly hurt as her father and mother shared stories about when she was young and a holy terror. She had forgotten most of them, but it was good to sit and laugh.

"You promised me no tears, Da." Kate reminded him as Julia stood to take care of the twins for a moment. "If you cry, I know I'm going to cry."

"I'll do my best, Kitten, but I don' think I can call tha' a promise," Brogan murmured, reaching out to cup her cheek. "It's damned hard t'watch my little girl choose 'er man, knowin' she'll be off soon t'her own life."

"It's hard to know that I won't be here much longer. Inverness will always be my home, but I have to live in Edinburgh." She murmured just as softly, leaning her cheek into her father's palm. "I threatened to invade Inverness to move the capital here."

"Sorry, lass. But Inverness is stayin' her own kingdom fer a while longer," Brogan chuckled. "Mostly because I don' feel like answerin' t'my own daughter an' I'm sure Sam an' Rho wouldn' like it either when they take over."

"You might not have a choice when I have an army at my back." Kate said with a mischievous grin towards her father.

"I dare ya t'try," Brogan chuckled. "Edinburgh doesn' have a chance against my Axemen." He kissed her cheek before rising.

When Kitty returned, everything was ready to go. Several carts and carriages were waiting to carry everyone to the glen.

Heather seemed in a much better mood as Julia carried both of the twins to the waiting carriages. It helped that Justin was there and she adored the wolf that was her brother's mate. Once everyone got settled and on their way, Kate stepped out of the keep with Brogan, her arm in his one as they made their way to their own carriage.

"We could run away now. No one would be the wiser." Kate said as she looked up at her father with a smile, her tiara sparkling in the sunlight. "I'm sure we could be on the lam for a few days at least."

"Nah, I wouldn' do tha' t'Kell. An' yer Gran an' yer mother would 'ave my hide." Brogan gave her a gentle smile. "It's tough t'let go, love. But I know ye'll be.alright."

"I learned from the best." Kate said with a smile as she stepped into the carriage and leaned her head on his shoulder as he joined her. "I can at least still be your girl for a few more moments."

Brogan wrapped an arm around her waist when she leaned against him, and he rested his head against hers and closed his eyes. He could only hope the ride would last.

When they arrived near the glen, the trees too thick to take the carriages in, Brogan helped Kate down the little step and out. Rho came trotting over with a bouquet of lovely wildflowers for Kate, and Sam was dutifully watching over the rings.

"Did you pick these for me, you little monster?" Kate asked with a smile as her brother offered her the wildflower bouquet, Sam standing at the entrance of the glen with her ring and Kell's ring.

"Me and Katya and Timmal," Rho smiled brightly. "The glen is full of them so we thought it was a good match."

"Thank you, Rho." She said as she kissed his cheek and set him on down the path with Sam to get situated. "Shall we, Da?"

She turned to look at Brogan, giving him a smile at the look that was in his eyes. It was full of melancholy and pride, one that made a lump form in her throat.

Brogan had to take a deep breath to steady himself, taking Kate's arm in his own. "Let's go," he murmured, walking with her down the little trail to the clearing. Instead of chairs which would've been difficult to haul out into the woods, Kitty had chosen to lay out blankets and branches of the Ghis Clan were gathered on them, all standing as Kate appeared at the end of the open grassy aisle. At the other end, Kell stood dressed in a dark jacket and trousers and a cloak, though his sash and shirt matched Kate's dress. When she appeared, she was all Kell could see.

Kate was grinning like a fool as soon as she saw Kell. She might have been so nervous, but it didn't show as her father walked her down the aisle towards the man of her dreams. She had no hesitation at all and when they stopped just in front of Kell, she looked at her wolf with a sense of pride.

Kell reached out to touch Kate's cheek before he looked to Brogan. The two simply shared a glance and they understood each other. Brogan let him take Kate's hand, and he kissed Kate's forehead before finally stepping back to Julia.

Julia gave Brogan a small smile as he moved back to her side, Heather and Ashelin in her arms. She knew that he would struggle, but she hoped that he wouldn't lose himself too much in his grief. She leaned in and kissed his cheek, letting Ashelin go to her father.

"They'll be alright, love." Julia whispered against his ear. "And they'll have a lovely life together."

Brogan held Ashelin tight and kissed her forehead with a sigh, murmuring, "I hope so..."

Their wedding officiator was Taqu'un, being a family member with the power to wed couples. He smiled to Kate and Kell and began the ceremony. It wasn't specific to any religion. It was about Kate and Kell and family.

Kell only had eyes for Kate as Taqu'un spoke, only tearing his gaze away when Sam brought them the rings.

Kate looked at her wolf as he stared at her intently, his amber gaze making the butterflies in her belly flutter all the more violent. She grinned at him, squeezing his hand tightly as her brother stepped forward with their rings, offering them to him in such a solemn manner that she had to laugh.

Kell hugged Sam to his side before taking Kate's ring. It matched her engagement ring in style, but was simpler and a perfect twin to his own, simply smaller. As he slipped the ring onto her finger, he murmured a quiet vow in Erygonian, promising to be her partner and her protector for as long as she would have him.

Kate smiled as he slipped her ring onto her finger, the matching one that he had made slipped onto his own with whispered words of promises for their future. There was little that she wouldn't be able to give him, but she knew that he was proud enough to not take anything that she was offering. It would be a hard partnership, one full of stubborn pride from two very stubborn individuals. However, they would do well as long as they stayed together.
