Julia allowed Brogan to pull her into his embrace, his kiss soothing and passionate before she noticed tears in his dark eyes. She gave him a warm smile and gently wiped the tears from his cheeks with her fingers, kissing his forehead gently as she took a seat on his strong thigh.

“Annie will be here in a week, love. You have the rest of your life to show her how much she means to you and how much her mother meant to you. Cassie will always be a part of your heart and I think you need to show Annie that. It will do you both a world of good.”

Julia kissed his cheek just as Ciaran let out a little cry as weak as a kitten. She smiled and took her son from his father’s arms, bringing him back to her breast to feed. She held him warmly, looking into Brogan’s eyes with a smile of love and adoration.

“Thank you for giving me this special gift, my love. I don’t think I can ever repay you.” She said softly as they both looked down at their tiny son nursing at her breast.

"I should be th'one thankin' you, Julia... You did all th'work," he chuckled lovingly, laying his head against hers as they watched over little Ciaran. "I'm so glad 'e's got yer eyes... tha's one thing I want all our children t'have, those beautiful emerald eyes." At that, his own dark eyes met hers and he kissed her again with deep gratitude for being the mother of his child as well as his lover.

A week later, the entire keep was in an tizzy as they prepared for Annie’s arrival. Boar had volunteered to go and escort his niece home and word had reached that they were just outside the city. The servants were running back and forth, making sure that everything was just right. Kitty was beside herself with joy as she helped put the final touches on everything.

Julia was in a special alcove that Kitty had set up for her to nurse that was just off the great hall. It had been used by queens to tend to their children and still be close to their duties. She was rocking in her wooden chair, smiling down at her son as he fed and stared at her with his great green eyes. He was growing stronger and Vincenzo seemed pleased with his progress.

Glancing up at the door opened, she knew it had to be a member of the family that entered. She smiled at Brogan, lifting her chin for a kiss as he entered. “Nervous, love?”

Brogan laid a loving, but clearly nervous kiss on his love's lips before settling beside her with a sigh, "Y'can tell...?" He looked incredibly troubled. "What if... what if she doesn' r'member me...? ... What if she hates me...?" That'd been his worry since day one. "I wouldn' blame 'er if she did..."

A light knock sounded on the door, and Valentina spoke from beyond, "Brogan, Boar's just outside."

Julia gave him a loving smile, reaching her free hand over to take his own and squeeze it gently. “Brogan, if she does, we will work through it as a family. I’m sure she will be excited to see her Da.”

She was interrupted by Valentina as she told them that Boar was just outside. She could see the nerves that her husband had and she felt for him. She had no idea what the little girl would be like, but she knew that they could get through anything that came their way.

“Would you take, Ciaran, love? He needs to be burped and I need to lace my gown so we can go and greet Annie.” She said, passing their son into his father’s secure hands, laughing softly as the little boy grunted and groan, wiggling in Brogan’s grasp.

Brogan took his son with a light smile, "C'mon, lad, I know y'want yer mother all t'yerself." He gently patted the baby's back until he burped and fell still and content. It was strange but endearing, seeing such a huge beast of a man with such a tiny baby, being so careful and protective. Ciaran could not have been in better hands except those of his mother. Brogan had proven himself an exceptional father and, having done it all before, he knew many things that first-time parents didn't.

Soon, the couple emerged with their child to see Boar entering with a small child bundled In his arms. She couldn't have been much more than five years old, really. Boar set the little girl on her feet with a smile, kneeling and pointing out Brogan to her.

Brogan, after having given Ciaran back to Julia, froze when he saw his daughter. "Annie..." he choked out. Annie knew his voice. He'd visited her many times in Ireland, always loved her dearly. Of course she remembered him.

"Da!" The little girl cried, forgetting shyness around all the strangers. She ran to her father, his little hood falling back to reveal beautiful jet-black hair reminiscent of her mother, and bright blue eyes too. She tripped, but Brogan bolted forward like lightning, catching her before she fell. He sank to his knees, wrapping his arms around her securely as he couldn't help tears of absolute bliss. He kissed her cheek and brushed her beautiful long hair back, reveling in holding his little girl again.

"Welcome 'ome, sweet'eart," he whispered, lost in the moment of regaining his daughter. He didn't care who saw him break down.

Julia stood back as Annie saw her father and went running into his arms, tripping along the way. Brogan was right there to scoop his daughter up into his arms, holding her tightly as he wept with joy. She had tears in her own eyes at the joyful reunion and she gently patted Ciaran on his tiny little back as he grunted and nuzzled against her neck.

She had just decided that she was about to step forward when suddenly a woman she had never seen before walked in. She had long, straight black hair that framed a beautiful face. A pair of clear blue eyes looked over the scene and her full lips smiled. She was the most stunning person Julia had ever seen in her life and she looked incredibly like Annie.

The woman stepped towards Brogan and Annie, pausing a respectable distance away before Brogan’s gaze met hers and in a soft Irish lilt, she finally spoke.

“It’s good to see you, Brogan.”

When Brogan looked up, he almost thought he saw Cassie, but he knew it wasn't so. He quickly wiped tears from his eyes and he rose, keeping Annie close. "Sarah...? I didn' know y'were comin', love." He remembered her well, and her jealousy of Cassie when Cassie stole his heart.

"Definitely a s'prise fer me too," Boar chuckled.

“We thought it best if someone that Annie knew made the voyage with her. I will be staying a few weeks and then be on my way when she’s all settled.” Sarah said with a bright smile on her face as Annie continued to cling to her father.

The sound of an infant crying drew all their attentions and Sarah’s face darkened as she spied the woman standing behind Brogan with the queen’s crown upon her head. She held a tiny infant close, shushing him quickly as she bounced him in her arms. The infant had a thick shock of dark hair, the same that all the Ghis children had. She felt instant jealousy lace through her body.

“Shhh…shhh…it’s alright, my heart.” Julia cooed to her son who cried like a banshee against her shoulder, his tiny face bright red with tears.

"Yer always welcome, y-" But Brogan paused at his son's cries. He stepped back and laid his hand across the boy's back lovingly, speaking ever so gently to him until he quieted down. "I think 'e's jus' tired, love," Brogan smiled to Julia. "Best put 'im down fer a nap." He usually knew what to do.

"Come sit with us, Sarah," Brogan smiled to his once-sister-in-law. They would go to Kitty's parlor. Valentina offered to look after Ciaran while he slept so that Brogan and Julia could greet their guest and daughter.

Julia placed Ciaran in Val’s arms, fussing over him as he whimpered and squirmed. “If he gets hungry, come and find me. And make sure that he’s not too cold. And he doesn’t like having his blanket too tight.”

She fussed over her son, looking at Val as the woman smile and she looked sheepishly down at the little boy. She hadn’t meant to be boss about it, she was just very mindful of how fragile he was. Of course, Val knew that too and he was in the best of hands as she took Brogan’s arm and let him lead her and Annie towards Kitty’s parlor.

Once they were inside, Kitty fussed over her granddaughter, taking the little girl’s cloak and tucking it away. She then swept the little girl up in her arms and kissed her cheek warmly. Julia smiled, still waiting for her chance to introduce herself to the little girl as her family doted over her.

"Annie," Brogan soon spoke softly, and the little girl looked up with big blue eyes. "Sweet'eart... this is Julia, m'wife."

Little Annie looked to Julia curiously, "Is she like Ma?"

"... No, no she's not, love. But I love 'er t'death an' she's jus' what I needed. I 'ope ye'll love 'er too."

"Is she my new Ma?"

"If ye'd like 'er t'be." And at those words, Annie slipped from his arms and came to climb up on Julia's lap and hug her.

"I don't remember Ma... but I always wanted a new one." She muttered. The girl wasn't much like children her age. She seemed more mature somehow. Perhaps it was because she'd already come in contact with death so soon.

Julia smiled down at Annie as she talked very maturely, telling her father exactly what she wanted and why. That was the Ghis spirit in her, she was sure of it. Suddenly, Annie was in her lap, holding her tightly as she muttered about always wanting a mother. Julia gently closed her arms about the little girl, hugging her tightly as she looked at Brogan with a joyous smile on her face.

“Well, Annie, I will try my hardest to be the best mother I can be to you.” Julia promised, bringing the little girl’s blue eyes up to hers as she smiled down at her. “And your Da has missed you something fierce. We have a new room all for you and new clothes…and even a new baby brother.”

Sarah sucked in a deep breath at that announcement, a slow burning anger building in the pit of her belly. How dare Brogan move on from her sister so easily. Cassandra was suppose to be his one great love, besides herself of course. Now it looked like this little English lass was moving in on her once perfect little family.

“Little Ciaran will love having a big sister like you.”

Annie simply curled a little tighter against Julia as she spoke, smiling a cute little happy grin. Brogan chuckled and kissed his little girl's forehead before sitting up to kiss Julia's cheek. He looked to Sarah with a kind smile, "How've ya been, love? Yer prettier'n ever, jus' like yer lovely Ma." He was always so sweet to her, even before he'd married Cassie.

Sarah stared at the scene for a moment longer before Brogan asked her how she’d been. She looked at her brother-in-law and slowly smile. He thought that she was pretty, had always flirted with her, and had even considered her hand in marriage. Why he chose Cassie she would never know. Cassie was the girl that was sullen, slow to laugh, but in Brogan’s eyes she was the most perfect girl in the world.

“I have been well, Brogan. Tending to Annie. There has even been a marriage proposal from the highlands, but Da and Ma are still considering it.” She said absently. There were always marriage proposals, but she was waiting for the moment that Brogan Ghis gave her what she so dearly wanted in life…his hand in marriage.

“Gram, might I have some tea and a scone?” Annie asked politely, looking towards Kitty with a peaceful little smile on her face.

"O'course, dear, jus' come along with me," Kitty smiled lovingly and, with Vincenzo by her side, she led Annie away to the kitchen. Kitty had never liked Sarah anyhow... something felt off about her.

"I want ya t'find someone who'll make ya happy, Sarah, don' go marryin' jus' anybody." Brogan smiled, unaware of how Sarah still felt about him. He thought that the phase of obsession with him was over and he'd let it go.

“Oh, I certainly won’t, Brogan.” She said sweetly, turning her attentions back towards Julia for a long moment, regarding her with all the distain that she had in her. “Your wife is certainly very pretty, Brogan. Although, I think the crown suited Cassandra much more. She was always so lovely with that silver circlet on her long dark hair, dressed the fine clothes you had made for her.”

Julia clenched Brogan’s hand tightly for a moment, trying her hardest not to take the slight in any way other than a heartbroken sister remembering the one that she had lost so long ago. She looked at her husband and smiled for him, a kiss pressed against his cheek.

“Brogan has certainly always had a kind heart. He had the same lovely gowns made for me, but since I so recently had his son, I’m afraid that I have not been able to wear them.” She commented, looking into her husband’s eyes with a loving smile.

"Well, Sarah... Cassie's gone. She's been gone a long while now... An' it was time t'move on. I did, an' I couldn' be 'appier. I can' imagine ne'er 'avin' met Julia now." He laid his head against Julia's lightly. The memory of Cassie still hurt, certainly, but now it was only a dull ache compared to what it'd been a year prior. "We'll be comin' up t'our first weddin' anniversary nex' month."

Julia grinned as Brogan mentioned their anniversary. She had nearly forgotten in all the excitement surrounding Annie’s return and Ciaran’s birth. She could hardly believe that it had been a year that she’d been with the love of her life.

Sarah watched their little display, growing with rage by the moment. She suddenly stood, looking down at the two of them with a slowly controlled exhale. “I think I will go check on Annie. I will see you two at dinner.”

With that, she turned and stormed out of the room, leaving Julia giggling in her wake. She kissed her husband lovingly, sighing at the contact of his lips against hers. It was all they could share for the next few weeks under Vincenzo’s orders, but she hoped by the time of their anniversary she could finally take her husband to bed.

“I love you so, Brogan. I am so happy that you have Annie back in your arms as well.” Julia murmured, cupping Brogan’s cheek with one of her slender hands. “And perhaps tonight you will help me to celebrate…when Ciaran is in bed, of course.”

Brogan chuckled deeply to his wife, Sarah's anger going unnoticed as it often did. "Celebrate, aye?" He kissed her cheek. "What'd ya have in mind, darlin'?" He honestly could hardly wait to make love to her again and really show his appreciation.

On Sarah's way out, she heard the voice of Brogan's man Cole, talking with another person about the new king of Wick and how, after declaring peace, he was looking to take himself a wife. This king was a greenhorn, which was really why he'd declared peace with Inverness. He'd lose quickly in open war.

Julia nodded with a smile, her lips pressing against his ear as she told him of her dirty little plan. “I want to wrap my lips around your hard cock and drive you wild, my lord. We shall not only celebrate Annie’s return and little Ciaran, but also your birthday that you struggled so hard to keep from me. If I make you cum when the clock strikes midnight, it shall be an early gift from your eager and loving wife.”

Sarah paused as she listened to the men talk about the new king of Wick. It was interesting, she thought to herself. He was looking for a wife…maybe she could fill that role nicely while still having Brogan too. She smiled to herself as she went on her way to find Annie.

"Bloody wicked," he growled darkly, nibbling her ear with a bit of fire in his touch, and she could see that just her words had already half-aroused his cock in his trousers. "Look what ye've done t'me, woman," he chuckled, kissing her slender neck.

Little Annie was sitting at a table in the great hall with her grandmother, enjoying scones and tea and simply chatting about Annie's journey over and how she was sure she'd seen a sea serpent.

“Shall I take care of you now, my sweet husband? Little Ciaran is in Val’s care and Annie is with your Ma.” She said softly, sighing as he kissed along her slender neck. “Come with me, Brogan.”

She stood and took his hand, kissing his lips briefly as she pulled him from his mother’s sitting room and down the hall. The library was quiet the time of day and as she pulled him inside, she made sure to lock the door securely. She looked him with such an aching look of lust, her eyes trailing down the hard shaft that was straining against his kilt.

“Oh, my lord, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more welcome and beautiful sight in all my life.” She said softly as she stepped towards him and wrapped her arms about his neck, pulling him in for a gentle kiss.

Sarah found Annie telling her Grandmother stories of her voyage, little make believe things that only the mind of a child could come up with. “Annie Ghis! I have told you time and time again to quit making up such fanciful stories.” Sarah scolded her niece, watching as the little girl shrank back and lowered her eyes to her plate.

“I apologize, Kitty. She knows that a young girl should not be telling such lies.” Sarah glanced at Vincenzo, wondering how the dark haired man fit into this picture. He had his arm around Kitty's waist, holding her tightly. That was certainly odd, Sarah thought.

Brogan pressed close against her, the fact that he couldn't have her just yet made him only want her more. He could hardly wait for the night she'd be ready and he could just bend her over the nearest surface and take her with wild abandon. He was harder than ever as she kissed him, his cock straining against her thigh. "No' sure I can take much more o'this, darlin'," Brogan almost whimpered, something she'd never heard from him before.

"Oh, they aren' lies, dear," Kitty chuckled, "Why, there's a great beast in Loch Ness too, don'tcha know! Nessie, some call 'er. An' there's centaurs out in th'forest, shy folk." At that, Vincenzo chuckled too and kissed Kitty's hand.

Julia pulled back from the kiss and looked at Brogan as he confessed that he couldn’t take much more. Her strong husband was about to spend himself, she thought and she smiled warmly at him. She pulled him towards the nearest chair, helping him to settle down into it before she pulled his kilt and trousers free to release his straining cock.

She kissed the head lovingly, licking along its surface as she looked up into her husband’s eyes. This was what had given her the darling baby that held a piece of her heart. She was going to make sure that this was a moment that her husband never forgot.

“Really, Gram? There’s really a monster in the loch?” Annie asked in breathless joy, her little eyes wide as she looked at her grandmother and the man seated next to her.

It was about that time that Val came into the great hall with little Ciaran bundled in her arms. She knew how much Kitty loved to dote on the little boy and after a brief nap, he was alert with his little green eyes looking over everything.

“Here you are. One little prince.” Val announced, placing the infant in her mother’s arms.
