Julia whimpered as Brogan’s hands settled on her hips, squeezing them lightly as he pulled her closer. She loved the strength that he possessed and it made her incredibly hot to know that he could be so gentle and loving with her. He thrust into her body with a renewed energy, a moan drawn from her lips as he rocked her body across the surface.

“Yes, love. Just like that.” She whimpered as he reached beneath her body and cupped her breast, massaging it until her nipple pearled tightly against his palm.

Brogan's lips caressed her back while his hand kept at her breast, giving the pearled nipple a gently teasing pinch. His hips and thighs thrust powerfully and energetically into her own, finding a natural rhythm that felt absolutely perfect in that given time. With a smirk that she could feel against her back, Brogan did something that rocketed her up to a whole new level, changing some angle and finding a place inside her that, when he touched it, sent waves of pure, unadulterated pleasure through her smaller form.

Julia felt her fingers clench against the sheets as he thrust into her body with amazing result. She gasped, the howling sound of an animal in heat bursting past her lips as she felt her body shake with the pleasure that he was ripping from her body.

“Oooohhhhh…” She moaned, her eyes fluttering close as his lips traced up and down her spine, his hand twisting her nipple until she swore that she was about to implode. “More!”

Once Brogan found that perfect spot, he did not leave it, thrusting harder and faster to see if he couldn't top Julia's best climax thus far. His body was like a ram into her own, in the best way possible. He leaned down nibbling her earlobe, and whispered, "Tell me when yer ready darlin'..." He knew she was close.

Julia could barely breathe as Brogan’s lips nibbled her earlobe, whispering in that deep, husky tone that made her entire body clench around his.

“Now!” She nearly screamed, her fingers clenching the sheets tightly as her body exploded around Brogan. “Oh Lord….”

Her world narrowed into the pulsing of her body, the very air leaving her lungs labored and rough as her husband gave her everything she could ever want and more.

With a deep and soulful groan, Brogan buried his manhood in her folds as deeply as humanly possible, wanting to feel every second of her climax as she tightened around him. Laying his head against her shoulder, his own orgasm surprised him, slow and steady and pulsing in rhythm with her heart. As ever, his seed filled her belly generously, but he did not pull away just yet. A stillness set in, a lovely long moment of blissful silence interrupted only by deep breathing and heartbeats. Brogan never wanted it to end.

But with the day looming before them, it had to end, but not for some time. When Brogan's now-softened shaft pulled from her body, Brogan laid on his back beside her and laid her across his chest, kissing and caressing her face and lips and neck.

Lying on his chest, whimpering every so often as the aftershocks continued to rock her body, Julia slowly came back to herself as she felt his lips kissing and caressing her face and lips. She returned his kiss when she was able, sighing in satisfaction as they clung to one another in such happy bliss.

“I love you, Brogan.” She whispered to him, her cheeks heating at the husky tone to her voice. “I love you more than life itself.”

She nuzzled her nose against his, her green eyes fluttering closed as the moment sank into her memory. She didn’t think that she could ever love another person with the depth that she loved Brogan. It pained her to even think of that and as she kissed him again, she knew that no one would ever come between them again.

“I am starting to worry though.” She said softly, her eyes opening to look into his for a moment. “Why has all of our time in bed not produced…an effect?” She asked him, nibbling on her lower lip.

"It'll 'appen in time, love," Brogan lifted one calloused hand to her cheek, "Ye'll see. Maybe it already 'as, an' we just 'aven't seen it yet." He brought her forehead to touch his own. "No worries, darlin'."

She smiled as he pressed his forehead against hers. She kissed him one more time before she gave him a little smirk.

“So…you’re going to take me to the market today? Can I buy whatever I like?” Julia asked him in a teasing voice, feeling free spirited and giddy about truly celebrating her birthday for the first time in her life.

“And then perhaps we might retire back to our room early today. I think that we need a bit more…practice…” She smiled along with Brogan, giggling at the light in his eyes.

"We can get up t'whatever mischief y'like," Brogan grinned.

Two blissful months passed for Inverness, and as the snows melted in late March and gave way to greenery, Brogan began assisting farmers in the fields, Durban began building his own house, with Boar's help, and they'd later reverse roles as Boar and Emma had decided to remain in Inverness. The other members of the This family returned to their own homes, and Kitty, though she was weaker than ever, was happy as happy could be.

There came a morning that awoke Julia with Brogan rising from the bed, and she had been feeling odd lately and her monthly cycle was over a week late.

Julia hadn’t felt well in over a week, afraid to tell Brogan of the sore stomach and dizziness that she had been experiencing. It had taken the wind out of her sails and she tried to remain cheerful for her husband, but she found herself crying over the littlest things.

That morning as she dressed in silence next to her husband, she noticed the small little tear in the sleeve of her new gown, the one that she had made from the bolt of cloth that Brogan had bought for her during her birthday. It was enough to send her to tears, sitting on the edge of their bed and sobbing over even that tiny little detail.

Brogan was immediately at Julia's side, wrapping her up in his arms, "Julia, what's th'matter, love?" He lifted a hand to brush a tear from her cheek with his thumb. "Somethin' 'appen...?" He had noticed some odd things about her lately, but this was extremely worrying.

Julia could barely speak through the tear as Brogan's arms wrapped around her, holding her so tight and tenderly. She felt embarrassed that such a little thing had sent her into such a tizzy. Sucking in a deep breath she tried to calm herself enough to talk to her husband.

"I tore my new dress." She finally whispered softly, fresh tears wetting her cheeks at her confession.

Brogan couldn't help a gentle chuckle, "It's nothin' a li'l thread o' th'right color can't fix, darlin'. Nothin' t'cry over." He kissed her forehead and hugged her closer, "Now why's such a small thing got ya so upset?" He wiped away her tears and met her eyes. "Yer not a lass t'cry over somethin' like this."

"I don't know..." Julia said softly, sniffling as Brogan assured her and tried to make her feel better. She was so upset over something so little and he was right, she normally didn't let thing like a year in her dress get her down.

"I don't know what's wrong with me, Brogan. My belly has been so sore and sour in the mornings after you leave and I get so dizzy that I have to lie down until the room stops spinning." She felt fresh tears rise in her eyes at her confession, worried that he would become upset with her.

Everything clicked in Brogan's head at her confession, and for the first time since their fight about Cassie, she saw tears fill her husband's eyes, but he didn't try to hide them. Instead, he laughed, and he hugged her tight. He couldn't hardly believe it, after trying for several months.

Julia was confused as Brogan hugged her tightly, the tears in his eyes shining as he laughed deeply about what she’d just told him. She didn’t understand what was going on and she soon pulled back, looking at her husband with an utterly lost expressing.

“Brogan? Why are you laughing?” She asked him, fearing that he had lost his mind.

"Julia, darlin'... I think y'might be expectin', love. I think yer pregnant." He took her hands and kissed one. He remembered these signs from his mother with his younger siblings and Cassandra with Annie.

"Don't tease me, Brogan." Julia scolded gently as he made the announcement that he thought she might be with child. "It isn't funny."

But she didn't see laughter in his features. He was gentle, loving, so completely honest with her that she suddenly found her heart swelling at the idea that she was carrying his child. This wasn't a joke...it was incredibly real.

"Oh...love..." She whimpered, throwing her arms around his neck and holding him tight. "After so long I had given up hope..."

Brogan held her with the utmost care, but he soon rose to smile down at his wife. "We ought t'see Val, jus' t'be sure. She's th'lass what knows everythin' you'll need." He set Julia on her feet carefully before kissing her lips lovingly with such gladness and hope she'd never seen from him before.

Julia had never seen such tenderness from her husband as he kissed her. His strong figure held her like she was something fragile and worth protecting. It made her smile as their kiss broke and she was nodding at his suggestion that they see Val. She dressed in her gown quickly, the tear in her sleeve forgotten as she was soon gripping her husband's hand as they walked down the hall to find Val.

"I'm a little scared, Brogan..." She confessed as they knocked at Val's door and waited.

"I'll admit I'm a bit nervous m'self," Brogan kissed her cheek and laid his head against hers until Valentina opened her door.

"Something the matter?" Valentina looked between them worriedly.

"Val... I think Julia migh' be expectin'," Brogan told her.

"I could've told you that a week ago."

".... And ya didn't?"

"I wasn't entirely sure, but I am now."

“You knew?” Julia asked with a gasp as Val acted like it wasn’t a big deal. “Why didn’t you say something?”

She couldn’t help the giddy feeling that leapt in her chest or the way that her hand was suddenly at her belly, cradling it even though nothing could be felt. The fact that Val had known for a week mattered little to her. What mattered was that she was having her husband’s child…something that she thought would never have happened.

“Brogan…” She said softly, turning her green gaze towards his as an uncontrollable smile crossed her features. “We’re having a baby!”

Valentina chuckled to herself as Brogan embraced his wife once more, "You two had better tell Kitty, she ought to be the first to know. Just make sure you take extra care of her, Brogan if that's even possible."

"O'course I will," Brogan now hugged Valentina and kissed her cheek in thanks like a brother might to a sister. "Thank ya, Val." He then wrapped one arm around Julia again, "Come on, love. Ma'll kill me if we don' tell 'er right away."

It felt like everything in her world was right when Brogan’s arm wrapped around her and held her tightly. She pressed herself against his chest as he told her that they needed to tell Kitty. She knew the woman would be overjoyed, but she hoped that she didn’t tax herself when she heard the news. She had grown concerned with Kitty’s health in past few weeks.

“Why don’t you tell her, love?” Julia said as they walked through the halls towards Kitty’s chambers. “And don’t get her too excited. She’s been so nervous for Emma’s upcoming birth that she’s been doing too much.”

"And she insists on watching Seamus in the afternoons which is an even greater strain." Julia knew that Kitty was her own woman and could make her own choices, but it was apparent how much she cared about her mother in law.
