I have nine stories currently on line and have had what to me is an amazing response. Now I'm curious if i'm good enough to get a book actually published. I'm Looking for someone who may have done so to help me explore this further.
How to Read/Write a Dirty Story by Susie Bright is another good book.
All of the large publishers will not take an unsolicited manuscript. They only accept manuscripts from agents. Some of the small press publishers are easy to submit to but hard to get a reply from. If you are considering doing a book, you will need to send a prospectus (what the story is about, target audience and a sample chapter or two). The publisher does not generally want the whole book right then.
Another good site to check out is the erotic readers/writers asscoiation. I have it bookmarked but not on this computer so I am not sure of the address.
Cybaby, posting stories here on Literotica isn't a very accurate measure of writing skill. Neither is positive reader feedback.
I scanned "The Firemen" and found numerous errors in the first two paragraphs. You have a run-on sentence right off the bat. "Messaging" should be "massaging." "Amble" should be "ample." Further on you switch tenses, back and forth between present and past.
If you're serious about writing, you have a lot of work to do. I suggest you start reading avidly. Read stuff that is print published. Think about taking a class to brush up on your grammar and spelling. Spell checkers don't find errors like the ones I found. "Amble" is correctly spelled, but incorrectly used. Get a friend to proofread your work. Try to help someone proofread theirs. Often it's easier to find mistakes in other people's work, and during the process you learn something yourself.
Try at first to find an eBook publisher. It's much easier than to get one of the big publishers interested in your work.
Did you know that the overall eBook bestseller on amazon.com is an adult book?!
