Getting emails from Gayle?

This is the second or fourth hotmail email I received from a Gayle professing to be a friend of mine on hotmail. Yesterday or the day before there was some download for something completely different. This morning this is the one I received:

"hey,
did u always dreamnt of hacking ur friends hotmail account..
finally i got a hotmail hack from the internet that really works..
ur my best friend thats why sending to u..
check it..just run it..enter victim's address and u will get the pass."

First off I did not click on the link to download I just deleted the whole thing. Second who the heck is this person stating that she is "my best friend".

I am just curious if anybody else received anything similiar. I have the email address and all but did not want to cross too much into personal information by posting it here. Realize this is not the first one from her. Each one has a different down load feature of a different subject and what not.

Any suggestions or advice to it all?

It's probably just someone trying to trick you into installing a virus or trojan horse on your system. Delete it, and NEVER download something from someone you don't know.

to Modest that is one thing I thought about also but the other topics were different than this hacking one.

I was just wondering if anybody else received something similiar.

That's one of the tricks that the spammers and script-kiddies will do. If word gets around that a certain virus or trojan is named one thing, it's an easy job for them just to rename it and try again in an attempt to catch you off guard.

I also figured would not hurt to let others know that somebody is sending stuff like this to me. Perhaps it is happening to them. Not a good idea to down load from a person you do not know or trust.
