His answers, although misleading, were legally accurate under the terms agreed to by Paula Jones' lawyers in the first place, i.e. that a blowjob didn't count as "sexual relations".Lying under oath is unacceptable, regardless of the subject matter.

And a Republican-controlled Senate agreed.
But Clinton was acquitted because even the Pubs could see it was bullshit, while Trump was acquitted for strictly partisan reasons, twice.Lying under oath is unacceptable, regardless of the subject matter

One of the impeached President’s was charged with federal crimes. The other was not.But Clinton was acquitted because even the Pubs could see it was bullshit, while Trump was acquitted for strictly partisan reasons, twice.
Clinton was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice. Federal crimes. It’s not questionable. It’s a matter of public record as is his disbarment from the Arkansas state bar.But back to Biden here...even if the angle of "Clinton was impeached for lying under oath" was valid- and that is questionable- the main point here is Biden is not yet guilty even of that- that was Clinton, not Biden. Biden, as mentioned, has done nothing to warrant impeachment. A failed economic policy is a mark of incompetence, but not an act worthy of impeachment under the Constitution.
And if Clinton was impeached for lying, why wasn't his successor? Who insisted- falsely- that he had positive proof of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. And launched a war that got thousands of American soldiers- and tens of thousands of Iraqis- killed. Why wasn't THAT grounds for impeachment?
It's not the same.
Congress had good actual grounds to impeach Trump.
He was guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors.
There are no such grounds to impeach Biden.
Impeachment can and should only be used for treasonous acts- like conspiring with an unfriendly foreign power, or attempting to overthrow a democratically elected government. (Both of which Trump was guilty of, by the way.)
So yeah- obviously there is not a lot of love for Biden, but I repeat- NOTHING HE HAD DONE WARRENTS IMPEACHMENT UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.
