Nearly 70% of registered Republican voters want Congress to impeach President Joe Biden if the GOP retakes the majority in the House of Representatives after the 2022 midterm elections according to a recent UMass poll.

UMass Amherst pollster Tatishe Nteta said that Democrats twice voting to impeach former President Donald Trump has largely turned impeachment into a political weapon.

The pollster said, “The decision to impeach a president was once viewed as a last resort to reign in a president who pushed or broke through the boundaries of our laws, values and ethics. Today, impeachment is no longer a final option, but one of many weapons to be used in an era of rampant partisan polarization to gain an upper hand on one’s partisan opponents. With a number of Republican members of Congress calling to impeach President Biden, the chorus will likely grow louder if and when the Republican Party takes control of the U.S. House in 2022.”

Biden won't be impeached because the GOP is feckless. Lots of big talk but little to no action on anything substantive. One need only to look at the "repeal and replace" fiasco we were promised but which came to naught because the GOP had no plan, idea, or desire to knock over their well filled public trough.

OTOH, if the Senate were to somehow miraculously come up with 70%-72% GOP senators, I could see the squishy swamp rats like McConnell get subsumed and Biden removed.

As for those who wonder about any basis for such an impeachment and removal, try misfeasance in office, gross failure to effectively administer the laws and defend the Constitution, and contempt of court for subverting the orders of the court to continue operating in good faith the Remain in Mexico agreement. It doesn't matter if the Biden supporters agree with any of that, if the House impeaches on that basis it'll be enough to get rid of the nitwit in the oval office before he completely destroys the US.
