Get Woke, Go Broke

There isnt that I'm aware of. Sex related education is apart of school cirriculum and, far as I know, isn't itself being challenged. But that's usually late junior high to High School.

The PROBLEM is when activists try to make a stink about it when the Florida bill prohibits any discussion from Kindergarten to 3rd grade.
There was no harm in any discussion that was happening in those grade levels. I've yet to see any examples. This bill is a solution to a non-problem. Clearly DeSantis was just scouting around for something to bolster his rightcred and this just happened to be what he hit on.

I hope we can all agree that K-3 students should at least be reading things like Heather Has Two Mommies.

No harm....in talking to children about sex and gender...when they barely even understand the concept?

Esp when it's usually Lib/Progressives pushing their views on them? And often telling the kids not to tell their parents? And you see nothing wrong with this?

Which is why the subject does not even come up much at those grade levels. But if it did, there would be no harm in it. The worst effect on a student would be perplexity.

I see nothing wrong with that because it's not happening.

Obviously it's not happening now because DeSantis and the Florida legislation.

The most charitable response i can give to this isxthat you are wilfully Naive.

The new Doctor Strange comes out in a couple of weeks. I have a feeling Disney is gonna be just fine.

Kids play "house" and dress-up at school. Conversations about gender and family come up naturally and regularly among small kids. My wife was a preschool and kindergarten teacher and often overheard kids talking about differences in their bodies or different family structures. One day some kindergarten kids on the playground were talking about how one kid was obviously a girl because he was pretty and had long hair. The teachers did not intervene. When he told the other kids that he was a boy some of them didn't believe it and started teasing him, so he pulled down his pants to prove his point.

Oh what a shit storm it created. One Karen of a mom saw it happen and freaked out, calling the long hair boy a pervert and made an official complaint against the school and the teachers and wanted to have the boy expelled. My wife and her co-teachers were investigated, fortunately by an intelligent invesitgator. If it had been a 'concerned' Karen type investigator it could have been a huge mess.

Lots of young kids are aware of how babies are made and it's natural for them to have questions when a friend has one parent or same sex parents. You don't have to be explicit to answer questions but there are people out there who are looking for lawsuits to file - gotta play it safe and dumb. Educators better not try to educate. ;)

Do you even understand how kids question their teachers?

The teachers are not seeking to teach kids about having sex...not in textbooks or curriculum.

At the most, teachers get asked questions that.might discuss their relationships

The problem is truly that parents think that questions like the above is considered grooming....because many parents are fucking morons. And they won't want to talk about that with their own kids...because they're fucking morons. And the law puts the power over teacher's livelihoods in fucking moron's hands

Well, great! I hope you include those innocent kids who don't fit their abusive parents version on normal as worth protecting. That's part of my upbringing. ;)
Depending on the severity of the individual case, I believe adults of any abhorrent stripe who harm or sexually abuse a child should either be dead or serving their sentences in a prison's general population. I hope that answers your question.

Have you seen some of the REEEEEing going on about this? These people are made because they can't talk about their own sex life or how best to touch themselves to little kids.

Know what I call that? Child grooming. How about instead these people actually teach the subjects they're supposed to teach!?

What you believe is happening is in your own fantasyland. They do their job and you are just scared of gay people.

How bout just get over your irrational fears and leave children alone?

One of the many criticisms of the bill is that school staff will be required to get parental permission before offering any counseling to a student. I have friends who were raised in cults like the Peoples Temple, the Hare Krishnas, and the Manson Family. This shit is real for some people, but the Karens who support this bill don't want to think beyond their own experience and perspectives. What could be wrong with requiring that parents give permission before a kid has access to any help?

It would also limit the ability for educators to intervene if a child is being groomed for sexual activity in the home. Supporters of the bill say there are exceptions for consent in cases of abuse, but how is that supposed to be established if consent is required before any help is offered?

They're not supposed to be talking about sex, period. This is Kindergarden through 3rd Grade. If there are discussions on Gender, sex or anything like that then that is inappropriate.

These Teachers should stick to their assigned topics.

You don't care what my idea is on the subject, you just want to invent a motivation that subverts the simple meaning of everything I say...because you're a dishonest hateful asshole entitled to nothing but ridicule. That being the case I see your posts as having little to no value outside of being the subject of said ridicule and a thermometer of your ongoing butthurt.

That isn’t what the bill does. I suggest you actually read the bill.

I've read the bill and I'm aware of what it does, but thank you anway. And our back and forth was losely based on it. I'm fully in support of it.

I have read it three times now.

Educators must provide justification for withholding parental notification or consent before offering services. You're going to have to read and have some understanding of that in order to figure out what the ramifications could mean.

Basically, unless a kid is showing signs of physical trauma the school will be putting their neck out if they try to help without possibly warning the abuser. If you've been the subject of child abuse you would probably understand how that could be problematic.

Not really. Read section 2:

A school district may not adopt procedures or student 64 support forms that require school district personnel to withhold 65 from a parent information about his or her student’s mental, 66 emotional, or physical health or well-being, or a change in 67 related services or monitoring, or that encourage or have the 68 effect of encouraging a student to withhold from a parent such 69 information, unless a reasonably prudent person would believe 70 that such disclosure would result in abuse, abandonment, or 71 neglect, as those terms are defined in s. 39.01.

Which is a fairly wide standard.

Grooming? Nobody in the Florida schools has been doing anything to turn kids gay. Nobody has been trying to raise up kids to be their own mates on adulthood. And that covers the whole range of things meant by "grooming."

Parents suing teachers for their perception of reality which is warped by morons is not a good thing in any reality.

I have absolutely no doubt that teachers who have done nothing will be sued and their careers will be ruined because of parents who literally believe JFK Jr is wearing a Donald Trump skin.
Oh, the thing wearing Donald Trump's skin is a lot worse than that!
