Gender Bending

So I say yay for everyone, when you're gender bending, and when you aren't.

I see no issues in your full post I can take issue with, thanks for joining in.

I look forward to the day I feel as at ease going to the grocery store in a blouse and skirt as I do in a T-shirt and jeans.

Here is the obligatory "You were a stripper?" :D
Yup. I signed up the day I turned 18. I didn't do it for long, just a couple of outcalls and one incall. Definitely no sex, just dancing. I had a better body then!

okay, of course...

So I am sure we have all heard a guy say "I am getting in touch with my feminine side" alluding to the fact that most men have a softer side...

I look at the cituation like this...

I am a 60 40 kind of person... I could go easyly either way, BUT

JBJ- I know you don't agree people have a duality to them, but what if you are just the 99/1, you are 99% masculine and you have a maybe 1% is your feminine side, (ex. That is the side that sews buttons) I am not saying everyone can switch like me, some people are more like JBJ... but in just the same way we all have some testosterone and some estrogen, (more or less depending on the person)I think we all have the two sides of ourselves

I am not saying everyone has the ability to crossdress... I think that is what you mean JBJ, Is you have no desire to cross dress... and not everyone does... but just because you don't wear womens clothes doesn't mean you don't have a softer, more nuturing, caring side... maybe you aren't in touch with that side...

Either way... Its just my humble opinon...

UNFOUNDDIAMOND

My feminine side is 100% red-blooded American guy...maybe butch lesbian, I'm not sure.

I cant imagine being female. The idea of it is what we call ego-dystonic.

Is that a synonym for "completely lacks empathy and imagination?"

NETNAZI

Uh, starting when? With the 2008 models? Its all show, like sugar & spice.

Cool =)

In Ken's case, he was drunk at a strip club, and someone suggested that he get up on stage. He did it (drunk, mentioned before). It turned into a part-time job for a coupla months.

James... James... James... tsktsk

Net is actually the one who pointed out the comment you made about if you where a women it would be ego dystonic... and now I have a comment...

1. This isn't something that only being a woman could create, it is a pshycological condition which effects both men and women. This is form of obsessive compulsive disorder.

2. The definition of that word is a person is basically saying a persons thoughts, dreams or desires are in conflict with the goals of the ego... mind you this is not sexually or gender based, the way you are applying it.

Here's what you ment to say...

Ego dystonic sexual orientation would actually be talking about gender and sexual orientation if you where trying to say what I think you where trying to say...

Either way I understand you enjoy getting a rise out of people with your opionions, but it sounds like you are saying there is something wrong with being female or it is below you, but sounds like you where using a big word to try to sound smart and you didn't...

Almost like you heard someone else use it and thought you knew what it ment and should repeat it...

revision

So maybe what I have realized is not everyone has this ability to be well rounded in their personality, not everyone can be in touch with their feminine side... but I don't think that makes them superior.

What I mean by well rounded is, a person who limits themself to one way of thinking, being and living they cannot have expirienced or learned all the lessons out there to gain wisdom from.

Closing yourself off inside and denying any feeling that scares you because it is sensitive, or being so scared of your sexuality to get defensive at the idea of having even a feminine side screams of just that... fear...

People who are scared struggle to survive, People who are secure prosper,

I choose to be all of myself, I accept myself and know I am more than my gender, percieved gender or sexuality.

Great topic Shan...

So - gender bending. What do you do, if anything, to "bend" the rules of your societies gender rolls? And does it cost you anything in social acceptance? Are you a gender bender?

In the privacy of a LTR D/s relationship with the right Domina, I have been heavily femmed more than once.

I have never brought that to the public arena.

The principal "costs" in "social acceptance" are two-fold:

1. Obviously, it limits the number of potential Dominas that might be interested in collaring me;

2. It has given me a local public reputation as "not interested in women", because I do not date vanilla at all. It would just be a waste of their time and my own.

Yet, years of mental and emotional training do occasionally bleed across the boundary between my public persona and who I really am. This affects how I feel about public situations rather than how I react to them. I've spent enough time in the Army to have learned how to "maintain an even strain" on the parade ground of Vanillaville, in spite of what I may actually be feeling inside.

I have acquired a reputation of "a guy who listens", and I am an empathetic shoulder to cry on.

Does that count as "gender-bending"??

perfect example

I don't know if that's gender bending, but, Its a perfect example of what I said being true, A man can be totally masculine and if he is strong enough to not be afraid he can get in touch with his feminine side and be richer for the expirience...

I think I want to try some forced feminization on someone now after all this talk of some men being uncapable of even slightly feminine characteristics... I never even had a interest in it, but I have just the idea of who I'd want to feminize first...

Sounds like a great story idea. Start keeping notes.... :D

Actually my point is that anyone who's not a complete moron can perfirm the excercise wherein they imagine being the other sex. Or a kitty cat. Or John Wayne. It doesn't make you any of the above, you have to be really insecure to think it might and not be able to admit it.

Wow, I would make SUCH an UGLY woman. Egads!

I would just like to say how much I enjoy being here, and how everyone is so openminded.

I however, am very happy with my gender, and I have no plans to change it. :)

For whatever reason I just had the mental image of you in some ghastly getup - akin to the Big Bad Wolf on Sesame street in grandma's mu mu...

This is NOT a meme that needs to propagate.

No. Do not want.

There's a lot of things I'd accept in the course of being willing to take what I dish out. Feminisation is not one of those things. After all, I do not dress my gal up in men's clothing.

And I would make a crap ass boy.

It does not stop me from thinking what I might do if I woke up borrowing, I dunno, Adrien Brody's body for a day.

Or Liz Hurley's for that matter, equally as unlikely.
