Geeks for Geeks...

BlueATHeart said:
Well here goes:

I'm a 19 year old straight male thats a proud geek living in the Edmonton, Alberta area.

I'm into Firefly/Serenity primarilly (A VERY proud browncoat!) :D but I follow many sci fi series, I have a passing interest in topics related to the paranormal. While I don't belive everything I hear I often find it interesting and entertaining to listen too. I also (like many other geeks) enjoy playing computer games when I have time, I can usually be found playing Halo PC online on a semi regular basis.

Currently I have just finished the first year of an Avionics engineering program at school here.

I'm looking for a lovely lady in the Alberta area (Preferably Edmonton) to chat with (not necessarily sexually) and maybe hang out eventually. If things go beyond that great, but I'm really looking for someone with similar intrests that just wants to hang out and have a fun time.

So feel free to PM me Ladies
-David

All hail king Geek we will rise again!

Proud watcher of Stargate, Firefly (and movie), Buffy/Angel and firm beleiver that the truth is somewhere inside my fridge! Nerd looking for Nerd in the Surry area :D

Sp34k L33t??

Heh, people say that girl geek are less common, but I disagree. I know as many (if not more) girl geek than I know guys.

Anyway, we seem to be announcing our geek stats so, I'm a HUGE fan of Firefly (series was better than the movie), most of the current sci-fi shows of this millenium (not so much a star trek fan though). I'm into anime, manga and all that sort of stuff, I'm into gaming (video games r0x0rs my s0x0rs), but most of all I'd have to say I'm a cosplay Geek.

Long live the geeks!! The geek shall inherit the earth!

Sigh.... you're putting a tear in my eye! Say it again! :rose:
"Whoever owns the spice, rules the world!"

Ah. Well I should likely be listing Geek cred.

I don't have a lot. I'm mostly a book geek. I worked in several bookstores and used all my time and money to go through three books a shift. If It's fantasy Sci Fi I usually read it. There is a lot I must read and have not though. Give me some time It's a big world. Lots to do.

I play RPG's and fighter's pretty obsessively. No real others. Though I'l waste an hour or so and 10 bucks playing a FPS at the arcades only. IN my room quake sucks for me sorry. At the arcade gathering a crowd with my 65% accuracy rating on House of the dead 4, And my 81% on House 2. That's awesome. Oh and the huge drop. Pistol to Uzi. Uzi's are hard to stop firing.

I loove the FF series. Played nigh everything. I cos, and I love my anime. And I would pick Tifa over Aeris(/th) every time.

I p[lay a few card games. I play magic, (and I'm on the pro-tour), And I play Raw Deal. I do D&D, and Rifts. Also have done D20 modern Every Palladium Game. And many others. I run BESM and love it.

That's about it really. And Just as a note. I'm Bulking and working out like I am, Growing my hair doing all this. Why....

Because my geek girls want their Vega. Likely not happening for another year after this august. But when It does. I'm so posting pictures.

Ciao.

:D I take it then, you walk the golden path?
You have been to that dark place the sisterhood cannot look?

And I'll throw my geek credit in too.
I read obsessively, scifi primarily, I DM (or GM  ) D&D, Gamma World, D20 Modern, Star Wars, and Paranoia.
Big fan of Final Fantasy, and I've been doing group meetings for my Star Craft addiction.
Did I mention that I'm an engineering major?

All Hail King Blue! Long live the Geek King!

Just chiming in as a fellow geek :)

Welcome brother, and what do you bring for tribute to our king?

Now, for the political record, what's our stance on virgin sacrifice?

Heh, welll I don't know if I'm "king geek" but hey I guess I could be convinced to where the crown :nana:

On the topic of sacrificing virgins: I can think of a better use for said virgins (especially when many Geeks/Nerds out there like myself are virgins themselves...) ;)

I MUST say I'm glad to see all the Browncoats! Remeber guys Jes- I mean Joss is working hard... We WILL rise again!!!! :D

Meh. I belive Firefly is dead.
Best we can hope for is a trilogy of movies, and maybe a MMORPG... Which, I might add, would be sweet as hell.

Sadly, (I'm a realistic person) I think you're right cleric...

But Joss is still working on it, and while I know the chances are slim, I don't give up until he does...

Oh and we Geeks haven't been doing our job! we fell to page 2... ;)

Don't worry, Xmen 3 and Final Fantasy Advent Children will hold us until something major happens.... It WILL happen! :D

Advent children looks HELLA SWEET! :D

I've seen Advent Children through.... alternative means, and yes, I can confirm that it is very kickass. The dialogue wasn't the greatest, but then again, you don't watch a movie like that for the soliloquies.

As for Firefly, I too enjoyed this series immensly, but rather than pine for the series to pick up again (which I could swear it was dead because Joss himself said he was done with Firefly in some interview), I would rather enjoy the moments Firefly and I had together, and can still have, thanks to DVD.

Our Mrs. Reynolds.

Thank you Sir Whedon.
Thank you...

I picked up Advent Children last weekend, it's out in stores now, just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

I liked V for Vendetta very much. X-Men looks very promising, rawr.

I LOVED Jaynestown...

Anyways time for some more geek humour:

The Balad of Joss by the Bedlam Bards
(listen to it here )

Joss, the man they call Joss . . .

CHORUS:
He wrote about spaceships and shepherds and whores,
Stood up to the networks and gave 'em what for.
Fox cancelled his program, but that was their loss--
The creator of Firefly, the man they call Joss!

Joss saw the viewers' hearts breakin',
He heard the Browncoats' lament,
He saw Fox management takin',
His show in a way that made no sense.
(He said) "You can't do that to my program,
Can't grind it under your heel."
So he took all his cast, and now at last,
They've landed a Big Damn Movie deal!

CHORUS

Now, here is what separates Firefly
From other shows you're likely to see:
It's meaningful and witty, and the setting's really gritty,
And the theme song's about Serenity.
It's a little like a western, (hyah!)
And a little like X-Files,
It's better than Trek, and it's funnier than Shrek,
And it beats out Andromeda by miles!

CHORUS
FIDDLE AND BLUES GUITAR BREAK

Now here is what separates Whedon,
From writers who slave in the core:
The man they call Joss, well, he said to Fox,
"I'm going where no show has gone before."
He told us about reavers,
He told us about sin,
He took us to the black, and we ain't comin' back,
'till all those crazy Browncoats rise again!

CHORUS

"Wow" as in: "I'm blown away by how ruttin' good that was!"?

Or "WOW" as in: "That was a crime against nature"?

Wow, as in that was amazing, but still kinda sad.

Why Geeks don't go outside

So I ended up geeking out today and going to a Renaissance festival, and made friends with some gypsies!

However, I temporarily forgot my geekiness (I didn't wear my hat of +4 int), and before I realized it, I was tomato red :(

And the worst of everything? I lost the gypsy's phone #!

Ha, yay for Ren Fairs.
Or should I say huzzah?

I feel your pain, my pasty brother, the sun is a wily foe.

 I didn't think gypsys would have phones...
Shows what I know.
Cheers.
