Speak for yourself! I don't consider myself dorky a geek for sure! Gad... seems like all the geek guys are far away in Canada

I  RPGs!

I apologize if I offended; wasn't my intention at all.
Everyone has a different definition of nerd/geek/dork, but regardless of our differences, we must unite!
All shall bring their own uniqueness to our new order!
All power to the Geek Alliance!

*shameless bump*

com'on guys tell your geeky love stories! :)

We're not THAT sad are we?

And I'm still looking in the Alberta area fun a fun loving gal to hang out an have fun with, no prresure(sp) for a relationship or sex or anything, just a fun time! :D

I didn't know a prerequisite to being a geek was RPG's... I'm sadly out of the loop!

I love men with brains. Correction- I love men who know how to use their brains for something other than buying beer, pizza and porn. Not that there's anything wrong with those three things, but when it becomes ALL the grey matter is used for, then we have a problem. I think I may be more a nerd, myself. I have copious amounts of useless knowledge floating around my cranium. The people I work with yell at me for using words over three syllables long... *sigh*

Tell me about it...
I understand not using big words when simple ones will suffice, but usually the larger words convey more meaning, or simply use less words.

There's no sense in sounding like a elementary school student, just because some people only read and speak at that level.

Leave the wounded behind, if you ask me.
:D

I don't use big words to sound pretentious, and I certainly would never use language that was beyond the bounds of those I was communicating with just for effect. They all know what I mean. And you're absolutely correct- I like to be accurate in what I am communicating.

I also, however, LOVE words. I love knowing obscure words and where they came from. My favorite word (which I cannot type because I have yet to find it's correct spelling... the best I can do is phonetics: dis-i-ah-koka-kinesis) means the tendency for two people walking next to each other to bump into one another. The sheer joy this word brings me is inexplicable.

That's why I'm a nerd.

Use the word Geek...

Nerds are losers...

Geeks have friends... ;)
(I'll be it other Geeks)

Hmm... I have the same reaction to the word geek, that they're losers.

Semantics.

(and you know what that word means!!!! yay!!!)

Hmmm... so if we all unite, won't that be group sex?

but seriously, I love words too. Three of my favorites are lascivious, meticulous, and lackidaisical. I once came in second in a national spelling bee... after that you just see them allll over. Ohhh, to know a guy that loves talking about scifi and books... that's a brain! :cathappy:

*Waves arms wildly*
Oh! Oh! Oh!
I LOVE science fiction!
Hell, I've watched enough Star Trek, I can explain a decent portion of warp field physics. Depending on the circles, that makes me very cool, or very very sad.

Don't worry, I'm on it.... I had the fantasy so many times I had to write it down...lol.

What a coincidence, I can do both...

*looks around; whistles innocently*

Yay me I actually updated my interactive story. :nana: It took me a while, but at least I have the excuse that it was a big update, 3,500 words.

Hmm, let's start some discussion. How about that sff erotica or romantica, anyone have a favorite to recommend? Or, does anyone play an adult MMORPG and want to recommend it?

lol.... Is that all it takes, throwing around some big words? My second favorite is borborygmous, the sounds your intestines and stomach make when they are growling. Third on the list is defenestration, the act of throwing someone out the window.

And yes, I have worked these into daily conversation successfully.

I know what you mean!

However I tend to prefer disscusion on the topic of theoretical physics...
mmmmmmmmmmm String theory... :D

:D Yeah, I'm pretty easy that way.
Hell, I'll marry the woman who's willing to discuss physics with me.

I don't know much about physics, but I could fake it!!! lol

Good enough.
Whenever you're in over your head, just say 'But what about the quantum string theory?'

And then smack them in the head with a two by four.
