No gas at the pumps, anywhere in my vicinity.

The Colonial Pipeline leak doesn't seem to matter to most.

Time to pump up my bicycle tires.

Or, build an engine that runs on kudzu. I could be rich!

Diesel engine on vegetable oil. As long as there are deep fryers around you're good to go.

or pelletize the kudzu and go with a steam engine. Steam engine cars not what they used to be.

I've always wondered how well that would work large scale. I mean I've read plenty on it and seen the mythbusters tackle it but Fast Food joints only give the stuff away because they have NO use for it. Can you fathom if even 5% of the cars in your area were competing for the KFC grease? Sounds like same problem different day.

Though possibly diversification would be a decent stop gap.

Hrm, I wonder if the scrap metal yard has lay-away.

I need a basket for my bicycle to haul stuff.

My friend, yes I have a real friend, has been using waste cooking oil in his Dodge dually truck for years. His only problem is the smell. Animals and fat women follow him home and lick the tail pipe.

By the way, where is this here gas shortage? I did notice here in the corn belt regular went up 13 cents yesterday.
Since I can drive my American car made in Canada 425 miles on a tank of gas I don't have to worry until around Thanksgiving.

The Colonial Pipeline leak matters a lot to folk who aren't currently able to get gasoline or whose prices have suddenly jumped (and that would include wide swathes of Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia and Maryland).

Yes and yes. I live in an area where most commute an hour or longer. Gas was $2.25/gal before the pumps closed.

This thread is making me want to spend money on my pushy.

My other bikes have rear racks and bags and lights and computers, but not my new bike.

are you stocked up on clean water and canned goods?

Yes. I am prepared, like crazy survivalist prepared.

I worry about getting to doctor appointments and PT. No mass trans, out in the boonies. I can ride my bike for supplies, if needed.

Do some maintenance on the damned pipelines.
Everybody is worried about new pipelines leaking.
New pipelines don't leak...its the old ones that leak

Hopefully it won't be too long. I just realized if disaster were to strike we would be eating pickles and beans. I need to stock up on water.
