Ebay has a shit load of them though. Someone must want them.

Yeah, that was kind of a duh question, huh? lolBandit1 said:What most serious collectors do with whatever it is that they collect, They catalog and display them.
Right because some are only worth that..also some are fakes. Any good collector is not going to put up there good stuff to sell on ebay.Emerald Eyed said:who knows?

I dont get a lot of weird collections (like apple peelers)sweetalabama said:Yeah, that was kind of a duh question, huh? lol
Maybe cause I don't really collect anything. I have a few things I like & if I see it , I buy it. But I don't go out of my way for anything. Never quite understood it. I have an uncle who collects antique apple peelers, the ones that hook onto your counter. He's got tons. Why? Never understood it.
WTF is your problem? I wasnt insulting you or your collection, I was researching your interest. I was actually interested in what you were saying ....I didnt see your Amber or red ones.Adakgirl said:Right because some are only worth that..also some are fakes. If you don't know what the fuck you are talking about Emerald.. spare us please.
Also Alabama..those Glass net balls are very collectable and valuable as well.
Because someone got a little touchy over something she shouldnt havesweetalabama said:How did a garage sale thread go south? lol
I know someone who has tons of those. Again, I don't get it. But they are spendy suckers. She is a rich old hag, so that explains some of it. Every holiday "Oh, honey, you're so sweet & just the one I wanted. How did you guess?"Emerald Eyed said:I dont get a lot of weird collections (like apple peelers)
But i have a small collection of Lladro figures.
I hope to get more, but they are pricey
Story of my Lit life....lol.Emerald Eyed said:Because someone got a little touchy over something she shouldnt have
I know someone who likes cobolt blue glass. Looks really cool on top of her cabinets with a light behind them.sweetalabama said:I know someone who has tons of those. Again, I don't get it. To each his own. I wish I did have a collection. Would make it fun to go hunting for stuff. Salt & Pepper shakers, things that look like corn, pigs, etc. Maybe that will be what happens to me instead of turning into "the cat lady"....lol
You bought the leg, right?Bandit1 said:Getting back on topic![]()
I go to garage sales all the time.
At the last one I stopped at this afternoon I picked up a nice heavy set of stainless steel mixing bowls and a half dozen cast iron skillets all for under $10
I also picked up some fishing gear and a half dozen VHS movies.
I think that the oddest thing that I ever saw at a yard sale was a prosthetic leg.
That is Odd.Bandit1 said:I think that the oddest thing that I ever saw at a yard sale was a prosthetic leg.
I do like the glass. I have some cool stuff. Not a ton. If I run across something I pick it up. I do like really old mixin bowls. My Mum gave me some of my Gran's stuff after she died. Really big & fabulous colors. I think some of it is worth money but I can never get rid of it.Emerald Eyed said:I know someone who likes cobolt blue glass. What interests you?
Fav movies? I know someone who collects Wizard of Oz figures.
I also started collecting Fiestaware stuff. My kitchen if full of it, I hope to find some older pieces though. Mine is all new

You know you can buy those "A Christmas Story" lamps online? There is a whole site dedicated to it. My Mum's boss had her dedicate an entire day to finding a full size lamp for his nephew....Bandit1 said:Nope.
Maybe I should have though and made a lamp out of it.![]()
State to state?babydoltoo said:I love yard sales! Yall ever heard of the state to state yard sale? Now that is one I really wanna go to. Gonna have to put some rails on the flatbed truck so I can haul all my finds home with.
And a lot of work. Damn. My strategy? See the sign & bust a right or hard left...lol. Don't have the coordination to map out a plan.babydoltoo said:yeah it runs through like 4 or 5 states in the south for a weekend. Sounds like alot of damn yard sales....and fun.
