garage sales

And a lot of work. Damn. My strategy? See the sign & bust a right or hard left...lol. Don't have the coordination to map out a plan.

so very true.....and damn I so would not want to take the kids on that one. I would never find anything for them having to pee, eat, rest, ect. When we go to community sales they never wanna go....LOL I drag them around to much.

Fiesta ware is difficult to find in original condition.. very hot right now. Wonderfull pottery it is.
I will keep my eye out for you Emerald..still see it sometimes out here.

It's kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. I find great camping equipment that people practically give away.
I got a great antique Primus stove for $15.

However, sometimes I question the judgement of people who put things out for garage sales. In fact the last time I went out, I jotted down a list of some of the more questionable items.

-An unopened package containing a Summer's Eve douche. $2
-a ziploc bag full of mens boxer shorts, clearly worn. 25¢
one downhill ski. $5
-a set of six plastic "Mac and Me" promo cups from McDonalds. (That in itself isnt odd, but the price is: $15)
-a Christmas tree made from lawnchair parts and green garbage bags. no price.
-four Mexican Flamenco dancer dolls whose arms are made from stacked up bottle caps. Sold as a set: 50¢
-a box marked "Porn" that contained National Geographic magazines. Free.

anyone else do yard sales?
Haha, that makes me want to start a list!

I used to go to them all of the time but I have dialed it way back. There are a few in my town that are excellent because the guy works for for an antique shop and someone that does estate sales. Great hand tools, gardening tools like hoes and potato rakes. Last year I got two fire ladders that one could throw out an upstairs window for $8.

I always smile at the old woman selling her copies of the 50 Shades of Grey series.

An odd one I went to had bridesmaid dresses, not uncommon. I have a texture thing and yes, love the fell of soft, silky material. I absentmindedly reached out and felt the dress. I heard a voice ask me if I wanted to try it on. I turned red in the face and declined. I might of if it hadn't been in my home town just for the thrill of it.
