Who here was glued to the TV for much of Game of Thrones? I know that I was.

I do miss the series being on. :(

I miss this, Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire, Doctor Who... I'd say I need more shows, but then the absence of them lets us catch up on movies and DVDS.

There's a thread on the GB as well for GOT.

I watch very little TV, but I saw an ad for a Sleepy Hollow series that didn;t look to bad the other day.

Miss all of the above...Mad Men just concluded for this season. At least Dexter and Ray Donovan begin soon, and the final season of Breaking Bad starts in August. Tried to watch The Killing, but it's pretty uneven. Just don't want to follow another convoluted plot line regarding abused and murdered teenage girls again. It does have a phenomenal cast this season and I love the two leads, Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman. The new Sundance Channel drama Rectify is intriguing but I forget to watch it.

I keep meaning to check out "Defiance" on SyFy but I forget.

Mr Penn and I attempted to watch "The Following," since we both like Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy but barely made it through the pilot. I had also become iffier on it after reading some reviews, and after watching the first episode decided I'd had enough of genius theatrical serial killers. Give me my Time Lords and my zombies.

I've seen that, too and have to say it looks interesting.

I haven't been particularly impressed with the show. I admire the background work that went into it, but it seems to me that's where most of the creativity was spent. Most of the characters make me feel like I've seen their clones on Farscape, Stargate SG1, and Firefly.

In spite of its historical flaws (like an elderly Cato) I still miss HBO's Rome.

That was excellent, and I have been amused by seeing some of the actors show up on Game of Thrones, like Tobias Menzies who played Brutus, and Ciaran Hinds. Menzies, along with the actor who plays Ser Davos, was also in an episode of Dr Who.

Did anyone here watch the first season of "The Following" It really looked up my alley and I've been thinking up picking up season one, but I don't know anyone who watched it.

I'm embarrassed to say that I watched it. It was a total waste of time. There were some good acting performances in it, but the writing was awful. I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did. It had a clever premise, but the execution was so bad--your suspension of disbelief would have to be nearly infinite to enjoy that show.

Thanks, you just saved me $20!

My husband and I planned on watching it and recorded the first eight or ten episodes before we got to it. We barely made it through the pilot. I like Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, but as others have said, the suspension of disbelief necessary rivaled that needed for later seasons of 24 (and I watched every season of that).

I decided that I could do without one more genius, theatrical serial killer, no matter how well acted it was.

I loved 24, but yeah you had to suspend reality big time.

The two things that my wife and I laughed about most was one

The fact he could get anywhere in LA in a matter of minutes was the biggest stretch of reality and

By the end it seemed like even the Janitor could run CTU. It got to where, "Okay this guy once thought about having some experience, so he's in charge now!"

Also was it just me or did you want to kill Jack's daughter whenever she showed up?

Actually, 24 was practically a live action documentary compared to "The Following."

You are quite welcome. I don't know if it's out yet, but if you didn't see "The Americans," on FX, that is definitely worth picking up.

Yes, the "20 minutes" bit became a running joke for us. Even I know LA traffic doesn't let you do that. I was also amused when that basically transferred to the season they set in Washington, DC. Also, when they referred to one of the roads there as "the 270." There is a route 270, but it's just... 270. No "The" in front on the East Coat.

Dave Barry ran a great blog on 24. I miss that. He noted that whenever they wanted someone to escape, all CTU had to do was "form a perimeter" and the guy was gone.

I didn't mind Jack's daughter; after all, it's not her fault the writers gave her crap lines.

I still think perhaps the biggest misstep on their part was Terry's temporary amnesia in season one.

Netflix dear, Netflix. All except Boardwalk.

You can probably download all of them ;) via torrents also. ;)

I do know that Netflix has the last six seasons of Doctor Who along with a great number of the past Doctors - 1 - 8.

You can also see Torchwood's first 3 seasons on Netflix.

ETA: No, I never watched it nor had a desire to watch it. But I do like Elementary.

Oh I've seen all the shows. :) And we have all of the new Dr Who on DVD (Mr Penn is a collector) except for the most recent season. And all of Torchwood including Miracle Day. And I have HBO and HBO Go so I could watch the HBO shows. I find lately, though, that I'm not to anxious to watch stuff again. I want new stuff.

Ah, yes. New.

Elementary and Perception have caught my eye. I give them a 3.8 out of 4. I also liked the Sherlock series.

The trouble with Elementary is it's on CBS, so I had to download the season 1 to watch it. The same with Perception, TNT won't let you watch them online unless you are subscriber...I live in a hotel, so online watching where you have to have an account with Xfinity is verboten.

I have also become taken by Falling Skies on TNT. It's okay and new.

I refuse to watch Perception. My mind is enough of a bag of cats I don't need to see his psychopathy on my TV to add to it.

And Elementary is on too late, and every time he calls her Watson I cringe because it would be a better show if they weren't supposed to be Sherlock and Watson.

I had a few people tell me the first season of Hannibal was decent, but Harris burned me out on him. Great character turned into a cash cow that he keeps going to the well with.

I know enough of the history to not care about every detail of his life.
