I have no money. I bought text books yesterday, and of course was unable to find any used ones, so I got to spend lotsa money. I had checked the prices for books online before hand, so I thought I knew what I was in for. Well, y'see... I forgot about tax. In BC, we have 14.5% on purchases.

So I have no money to even buy milk for cereal, and don't get paid for another two weeks.

and then spend just as much photocopying everything. I buy the books because some of them are workbooks, and others of them are added to my library when the course is finished. I have to have the textbooks, and only so many can be found in libraries off campus. There are only two copies of each text book found in the reserve room on campus. Reserve room means that you can only take it out for a few hours at a time.

If there's a tax on fucking, and I'm not getting any, do I qualify for a refund?

When fucking tacks, be careful not to prick yourself anywhere too sensitive.

OUCH!

Is it possible for you to resell your books to other students after you finished the course? I know not the textbooks themselves that you write it.. or maybe you could.. :)

I remember when I had to buy books for classes. I would try to get second hand copies off former students, but half the time the teacher switches books or makes us get the newest version.

We can do that, the bookstore on campus actually buys books back. But I sold all my books after first year, and I've been kicking myself ever since. I've been keeping my books since then, building up a library. All of the textbooks I've had from previous courses DO come in handy as references for the courses I'm taking. Iwould rather have my own library of useful sources, and then supplement with stuff from the actual library, than have to search the entire library top to bottom to find 4 useful books.

I'm sorry about the taxes, they seem to be a bit high everywhere. Good luck with school though.
