Nobody is entitled to a right wing California. It's super majority blue and is going to get the woke-crazy it has voted for.

If that's a problem you have like 30 red states and half a dozen purple ones to choose from. From libertarianish Montana, religious conservative B'ama, neo-liberal Florida....generically conservative Texas....moderate midwestern purple states..... little something for everyone.... just the way it should be.

Especially wen for the price of a working or lower middle class life there I can be effectively rich anywhere other than NYC and Hawaii. The weather isn't THAT good.

Easy access to everything is an outstanding place to start. You want beach? We got it. You want to ski in the show we got it. You want to visit a world renown zoo, aquarium or even Sea World? We got it. LA and NY are the only places you can guarantee every major act or sport will come to. The Olympics are never showing up in Tulsa or even Kansas City. Cuisine is another nice touch.

Then while we have steadily slipped as we've made the mistake of thinking for a heartbeat that Republicans might be right about somethings on education there is a reason why Silicon Valley is in California, literally almost every major tech company you can name is head quartered here. I'm sure you could find some that aren't if pressed but if taxes were a primary driver why not run Netflix and Pay Pay out of Alaska? If they were making enough to live in CA the amount of money they would have even with a pay cut would be more than enough to fly anywhere in counrty, if not the globe for a week long vacation.

Hell why didn't these companies START in Texas? It turns out that when you invest in educatioin you end up with a resource that can't be found in red states. Large amounts of educated and specifically tech savvy people. That isn't to say there are no nerds in Arkansas, its more to say if you are a nerd in Arkansas the first thing you do is move someplace that has companies with a need for your very specific set of skills.

That isn't that we don't have things that need fixing. Letting private companies handle our power has been at best a mess, at worst fatalities waiting to happen. While the homeless and the such are really overblown by the media, in fact the areas that its bad in are so small you can track them almost at the country level not the city level. And while to outsiders there are several cities in California our general building style is kinda nuts. The difference between San Fran and Oakland is if you live in a million + dollar home, you know how to parallel park on a hill and you live on one side of a famous bridge. You can pass between the OC and LA without noticing and while they are suburbs with names only the locals know the only REAL divide between LA and San Diego is a stretch of mountains. They have Mexican Crossing signs. Sorry, family crossing signs on the freeway. They are hilarious as all hell.

You're also less likely to get killed in CA than you are in the South or Midwest. Those barbarians with their lax gun laws just shoot people for the luls.

That's before you factor in the last earthquake that mattered is nearly thirty years in the past, the wild fires generally don't do much to actual people. Every so often it hits some small town that really shouldn't exist in the first frickin place but still generally speaking you'll be okay. Compare and contrast that with the south where y ou know you're getting a hurricane or two, maybe more. It seems to have died down the last few years but I remember when the snow in the North East was so bad that we didn't know ifi t was Snowmaggeddon, Blizzacolypse, Snowzilla or Snowmaggeddon II: Electric Boogaloo.

Now truth be told if that $15 an hour national minimum wage passes I'm moving to one of those states that has like 3 electoral votes, no regularly occuring natural disasters and houses are something someone making $15 an hour can scoop up and maybe import some llamas and the first one will be named Kuzco and I'll tell him he's a bad llama. Since I'm pretty sure there idea of gun control is 'if you can afford it' I'm getting me a .50 cal rifle, an anti-tank gun and a hippo. I don't even know why I want a Hippo other than to feel like a straight G.
