Hey 69.
Well let's see... I am 52, was born in GA but dad was AF so I have lived all over the US.
Have done many different kinds of jobs. From musician to working in broadcasting to a computer tech. Now kind of semi-retired.

Love to read books and go to movies and hang out with friends.

And Spense is just fine. Any one else want to do some introductions?

I'm 10 years older, 62 and retired. I too am a musician. Play rhythm guitar in a couple of funky county/blues bands. Since others have talked about ethnicity, my mom came over from Italy as a kid, my dad's family stepped of the boat in New Amsterdam in 1650.

That is cool. Shame this is not a REAL place, tell you to bring your guitar and I would bring mine and we could jam...

I always love a good jam. What kind of music do you play?

Sounds like the same kind of stuff I do. I also play by ear. Also do a lot of old 20s, 30s and 40s swing and blues.

Right. Now all we have to do is convince some of the other folks who have joined us to sit and listen to some good music.

One thing I have learned is if you play it... they will come! LOL

Used to sit on the beach or the pier and we would jam and people just flooded up to listen. It was a nice way to meet girls too.... lol But that was a long time ago.

So true. Ah, the good ol' days

Well I need to step out for a bit, but go ahead and enjoy and I will be back as fast as I can.
Later...

So true, huh? I love listenin' to a good jam! I used to play piano...still have one...just don't play it anymore. Don't know why. I loved playing ragtime and the Berlin Bros. In college we had a piano in the rec room in my dorm. I used to draw 'em in with Scott Joplin tunes and things from Porgy & Bess. Those seemed the favorites.

James Taylor is my all time favorite musician/songwriter...single. I also love Michael McDonald, Fiona Apple, Norah Jones...many many. Bands I love: Steely Dan, Beatles, Ub40, Medieval Baebes...many more.

So...play away, gentlemen! :)

Shame you don't play anymore... wish I knew how to play... I would love to learn.

Do you have any favorite Irish bands/musicians Spenser? Other than the medieval type music and the step dancing stuff, I've never really loved the music - the ballads and so forth. I worked for the local Irish Festival for a couple years here so we had some of the national/local bands in for it...just never really got hooked!

Thought I would stop by and sip on a glass of tea. Haven't sat on a porch in a long time and watched the world go by...... :rose:

Guess I'll have to bring my keyboard so Poppy can join in the jam. I'm sure it'll come back to her once she gets started.

Well there are a couple of ones I like... Secret Garden.. they are the ones who did the Orginal, "you raised me up". And I like Enya. She records all of her stuff in a Castle she owns. Saw her on one of the Travel channels and they did a tour of her castle. Pretty cool! Talk about your own echo chamber! :D

Well hon, sounds like you need to do it. Sad to say, but our lives have just gotten too crazy... rush, rush, rush. We all need to just take some time out to sip, rock and chill. :D

Ty Spenser. Yes, life has been busy the last several years. Hoping to get some chairs out on my front porch by the bbq grill and do a bit of sitting this summer...when I'm not working! lol

Sometimes you just need to call in sick and take a rest. Work places expect too much out of a person. But I know you are in the medical field so that is difficult. And Stressful

heading out the door to meet a client. Will be back shortly. Sit and relax while I am gone.
