French Plane Vanishes over Brazil!

They found three more bodies. Total number is up to five. :(

Mm-hmm. And more and more it's starting to look like mechanical failure due to inadequate maintenance, i.e. they didn't replace the pitot tubes even though both the manufacturer and the airline said to. This is not going to do either AirBus or Air France any good at all.

This is a spectacular image of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone ( see the bright band of cumulonimbus clouds from left to right ):

The ITCZ has been in the news recently because early analysis of the flight path of Air France 447 suggests flying through an intense thunderstorm cell in the ITCZ may have been the fatal mistake. There is a huge amount of energy being transported into the upper atmosphere by these storms.

It would appear that death was stalking her:

MOSCOW, June 10 (RIA Novosti) - An Italian woman who arrived late for the Air France plane flight that crashed in the Atlantic last week, killing all 228 on board, has died in a car accident, Italy's ANSA news agency reported.

Johanna Ganthaler, a pensioner from the Bolzano-Bozen Province (South Tyrol), and her husband Kurt, were vacationing in Brazil and missed Air France flight 447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris on June 1. The couple took a flight to Europe later that day.

The car veered off the road near Kufstein, Austria, killing Johanna.
