A story idea:

A young and innocent (one position, in the dark, not often) married couple are sent as missionaries to Papua New Guinea, or the Solomon Islands, or even darkest Africa, as missionaries.
There the husband is partly successful, enough to get himself crucified, then eaten by the locals whom he is trying to convert.
Subsequently she is forced to become the fifteenth wife of the local tribal chief.
Eventually she is rescued by a small expeditionary force of soldiers, but by then she is thoroughly turned on to sex ...

Snooper there is neither at work in that statement about using a petrified penis for sex rituals. The Chinese to this day use the genitals and balls from certain animals for the same thing, there are certain cannibalistic tribes who will stew the genitals of hung dead enemies and then consume them to give themselves a bigger one, there are many tribes who in the past have done the same thing. Disgusting yes, but it does happen.
