If you have a blog, what website do you go through? What do you like about it? What do you dislike?

Thank you :rose:

What do you plan to blog about?
Different sites develop different ways of community engagement.
My main blog is on livejournal. I like the group of people I interact with there. The comment feature is threaded, so conversations can hold together, oalmost like a forum. unfortunately, it has become commercial, and individual journals will have advertising on them-- garish and annoying and just recently I had to update my firefox adblock plug-in to block metadirects.

There are other sites running the same livejournal software, but none of them seem very stable.

Two other free blogging sites are wordpress.com, and blogger.com Blogger is owned by google and has some nice interfaces. It does not have threaded comments, and I don't actually know so much about it, come to think of it:eek:

Wrdpress is my darling right now. I've set up several on private domains for different uses-- it's just amazingly flexible. There are ways to make it do almost anything you want, including publishing articles separately from your blogging posts, or fiction in sequential chapters. How much of that is available on the hosted sites, I don't know...

TY :rose:

I am basically planning an author's blog. I will probably do two different blogs under different pen names, one for children's literature and one for adult/mainstream. A bit of self promotion.

I plan to also search on some favorite authors and see what they are using, whether I like how it looks or not.

I looked up a book on amazon yesterday, and I noticed that the author has a livejournal blog which is rss'd (technical stuff, means the words appear elsewhere than where you wrote them) on amazon, in the pages that sell her books!

She seems to be enjoying herself... :)

You can do this with any bogging service, and, in fact, you can rss from most blogs to most blogs.

I use blogger precisely because so many of my other contacts are on it and it makes it easy for us to comment and link.

No one says you can't do multiples... *grin* As a matter of fact, 'doing multiples' is usually a positive in erotica *wink*

My own blog is quite simple, but please feel free to give it a look...

I use livejournal. I liked it because I knew real people who read it, and then all of my forum buddies read it. Now I don't know who reads it, but I still post every once in a while about what is going on in my life.

One thing to remember, Magica... if it's for promotion, its accesibility to people you DON'T know that is most important...

I've been thinking I should "mirror" on livejournal and wordpress... you know, one post put three places... just have not done it yet.

and don't ignore your myspace blog. Different audiences in my experience.

I'm using live journal right now also as writing practice for video game review articles, just something to keep me writing when I'm not working on a story. I've used it before and it's generally simple enough to work around to customize it how you want. As for other blog sites, I've never really tried any. Blogging was never my thing.

Thanks for the info, folks. :rose: I once took a workshop in blogging when it was new but I don't even have a myspace yet.
