I was totally shocked by the set up of jewelry stores in NYC the first time I went into one; huge difference from the store in my home town

Meh, jewelry. *shrug* I have a ten dollar pair of Swarovski crystal earrings with surgical steel posts. Good enough for me.

I'm forever losing jewelry, so I'm better off with the inexpensive kind.

Just buy me a book or 10 :D (Ahem, not that I'd turn down chocolate, just saying)

Same here, to all three. Although, as a librarian, I tend to borrow rather than buying. And I still really miss the dragonfly earrings I lost. :( They were from a local store and a really lovely layered effect.

The county librarian when I was in high school was a so hot it was painful.

Our high school librarian was four foot nothing, about 200 pounds, and was old enough to have helped Ben Franklin set up the first library. Not exactly the typical librarian trope type.

I always manage to lose just one of a really favorite pair so that I still have the one there taunting me - and I keep it the hopes that the other may one day find its way home. :D

Sports Charlie Brown sucks at.

Lucy: Why do you think we’re put here on earth Charlie Brown?
CB: To make others happy.
Lucy: I don’t think I’m making anyone very happy. Of course nobody’s making ME very happy either. SOMEBODY’S NOT DOING HIS JOB!

I wonder, do Lucy and Charlie end up married; Lucy spending the rest of his life denying him sex and sending him to work with yogurt and a fork in his lunch?

Ah, Lucy, the girl who never made a mistake. She thought that she did once; but she was wrong. :)

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds :)

(or did she really want books and chocolate... Wait, maybe that's Emmeline :D:D)

That's an evil song! It's all about LSD and if you play it backwards it tries to convince you to attend an orgy. Evil! Evil! Evil!

(Yeah, I grew up in a slightly fundy church. )

As with most things, it's not the church or even belief that are the problem, it's people.

A very good song, inspired by Lennon's young son and his his childish drawings.

Given the innocent child who inspired this song, I'd be very interested to know what sort of idiot thinks it's 'evil'.

Innocence is an interesting idea. Has anyone ever had to be taught to lie?
