HP you made me giggle! I live in the US South so we have turned being an uncivilized lot into an art form.I'm pretty positive my neighborhood grocery store doesn't carry anything approaching a marmalade of dreams, perhaps at a larger store...I can see myself pondering the jam aisle now!

As you may have heard, England is trying to escape the clutches of the EU, following a referendum last June (there's still a fight going on, but most of us are pi$$ed off with the politicking]. They don't have marmalade in the most of continental EU, but might serve some form of fruit conserve, which is NOT the same thing.
So the legislators in Brussels tried to impose the banning of the term 'marmalade' and substitute the term 'orange jam' (which it patently is not). There was uproar from makers and consumers alike, following which they agreed to ease off the pressure and permit Orange Jam to be called 'Marmalade' in the UK.
Incidentally, there was a big row about Cheddar Cheese, following the French protests about the name 'Champagne' (anyone making anything like it can call it what they like but not 'Champagne' but they can put a discrete lable ('Methode Champenoise') on the bottle.
I suggest you start with a "Fine cut" type (Frank Cooper's 'Oxford' is famous but you might find it a bit too rich).
