I've heard that each/all some place before, I think. Regardless, it isn't true, as my so-called "education" proves many who can't/shouldn't teach do so anyway.

The first sentence has been around for a long time, often ascribed to Samuel Clemens. The second is mine, though I expect many have independently thought of it in some form as well.

I don't really agree with the first: teaching is something one does, not a task for some one who has no real skills. Unfortunately, there are those who occupy teaching positions without the ability to actually teach. But there are doctors, lawyers, carpenters, at alia who are equally incapable of doing their jobs. And, as I can say from experience, there also are many students who appear utterly incapable of doing their job.

Ite lectura est.

Who didn't do their job & teach you not to post contradictory sentences back-to-back?

But there are doctors, lawyers... who are equally incapable of doing their jobs.

Preaching to the choir.

Some students work at stores, eateries, etc. while going to school. But being a student is not a job.

I worked at least one if not two jobs every single year of high school and through getting three college degrees and trust me...being a student was always the FIRST and MOST important job.

No contradictions in what I said,

Preaching to the choir.

No. Pointing out that the accusation is adaged against teachers only.

It is the primary occupation of a full-time student, and it should be done well. It is not merely "going to school;" a student is expected to learn, not just be there. And some of us made our living from being students: scholarships and fellowships paid my living expenses through university and post-grad studies, and for that money, I was expected to show that I was, indeed, doing my job.

I don't know (or frankly care) how many jobs you worked while being a student. I only know that being a student was & is not a job.

This isn't the thread for this kind of discussion, but I will end my part with the observation that you obviously didn't learn how to interpret what is written. That's three times you've missed the ball on what I've said.

"Yerrrr out!"

And, if reality is "only what you know," then we're in pretty bad shit. Hell I know reality is much more than I can ever know, and I wouldn't have the hubris to merely aver that what I know is reality.

Now, feel free to have whatever last word you wish, and then let the thread get back to the fun of free association.
