For most obvious sports cliche, I nominate

I suppose honesty is right out?

"We came to fuck West Coast women."

"I need to control my portfolio."

(1) "They came to play."

(2) "They need to control the ball."

Don't forget:

3) "We have to take what the defense gives us."
and
4) "It's going to come down to which team makes fewer mistakes."

He's an explosive player.

He moves well for a big man.

He has a great pair of hands.

They have to establish their running game.

They have to stop the big play.

They need to dominate the line of scrimmage.

They have to take care of the football.

:D

Great halftime, though! Best I can remember.

I haven't thought about Tom Petty in a long time. He's great! I just hope he doesn't have a wardrobe incident and show his partially uncovered nipple. It'll cause a terrible stir.

I like how Fox Network linked the Declaration of Independence with football; I hadn't made the connection between Don Shula and Thomas Jefferson before.

Who else thinks Jimmy Johnson's pompadour looks extra perky this year?

If you mean the frilled shirt cuffs and little ponytail, sure. But those are just surface similarities.
Hey! It goes much deeper than that, missy! Just consider the following:

Louisiana Purchase--Remind you of Don?
Organized the Lewis and Clark Expedition--Is that not uncannily similar to something Don Shula would do?
The Embargo act of 1807! You've only to examine the details of that to see just how closely Don Shula's way of doing things resembles T.J.
And let's not forget Jefferson's time as The U.S. diplomat to France! Don Shula is certainly walking in those footsteps.

I swear, they could've been separated at birth!

He wanted those yards more than his opponent (who wanted no yards at all btw).
