I just gave a 'story' my first ever one star review.

Being this is in Letters and Transcripts I'm not sure it's completely out of place, and I wonder if there will be an audio coming soon? Those things take forever to post so they might have put them in around the same time, but that's just a guess.

But there is also the chance the person isn't aware this isn't the place for this type of piece.

TBH I don't care much for the OP running here to shame the story, "This is awful, everybody come see." I see they left a comment expressing their issue with the story and telling the author they gave them a one star. I think that would be enough, the person doesn't need to be story shamed. The OP comment looks worse when you compare it to @Rollinbones who tried to be encouraging.

Overall, not a cool thing to do.

I would call this thread a case of misdirected annoyance. Unlike some other story websites, Lit has a reviewing process, a lengthy one at times, so the OP should be annoyed with Lit rather than the author of the story.
Some people will say that this story simply "slipped through the cracks." Well, in my view too many stories just "slip through." If the process is so leaky, something should be done about it.

You know, I was going to mention that the site most likely should have kicked this back.

I didn't because one thing I have learned here is the site is infallible and any who say otherwise is a troll and doesn't deserve to be here.

In fact, I caught myself typing into my reply that wouldn't it be nice if people did this not based on a story being bad, but a disgusting rule breaking joke, then I realized that has been done on occasion and the person pointing out the story shouldn't be here is then attacked and the story justified....until someone shows up with one kicked back for the same reason then the same people say "well, it shouldn't be here"
