I know some straight guys will pretend to be lesbians or bisexual women in order to flirt with lesbians and bisexual ladies but do lesbians or bi-women ever pretend to be heterosexual men so they can flirt with straight women here or on other boards?
If you have heard of this before what is the woman's reaction when she finds out?

No, I have never pretended to be what I'm not...except when I was just shy of my 18th birthday and told some people I was 18. That's the only time. Oh...sometimes I tell people I'm a little lighter than I am...no harm in losing a couple of pounds online, right? Oh, and I guess sometimes I tell people that I like dogs, even though I hate them...Nope, I never pretend to be anything I'm not.

I'm ashamed to admit...

When I first signed up on gay.com, I was very curious about what all those men were doing, so I used a male nym to go in and flirt. At that time, I was still questioning my own sexuality and I was really wondering if gay men were the disgusting whores that rumor had portrayed them to be. I was also a little interested in finding out the mechanics of gay sex, to be honest.

At first I felt like I was sneaking into the secret guys club. I ended up chatting with a really nice guy, but unfortunately, I didn't have the guts to tell him the truth. We only talked for an hour or so, but during the course of the conversation I had a revelation that I was talking not with some unobtainable nameless entity on the other side of the computer terminal, but to a human being. We hit it off really well, but I never went back and I never again pretended to be something I'm not.

I realized how much it would hurt me if someone did that to me.

edited to add: After that, I hung out only in the married women and bisexual chat rooms and had a good nose for sniffing out the posers. (They were usually the ones who had "DDD" or "wetpussy" in their name)
