First story submitted

I am going to seem a bit slow here, sorry if this isn't the correct place to ask this question, but I was wondering how long it takes for a new story submitted to be approved? It is the first story I have submitted to this site, and I am not sure how long I need to wait. Any one have any information, per chance?

Anywhere from 24 hours to ten days. It's been running just over a week during the holidays for non-contest stories. That should improve a bit now that the holiday contests are over.
