The abortion provider was accused of not determining the viability of a fetus, and performing illegal late-term abortions.

The case, brought in 2007 by then-Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline, accused Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri of 107 charges

A Kansas disciplinary panel for attorneys last October found "ethical misconduct" in the way he prosecuted
abortion providers and it recommended suspension of his law license indefinitely.

Is this an explanation of what prompted Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) to bring attention to himself, by making such unbelievable claims about rape ?

Anti- abortion Republicans attacked Planned Parenthood and lost. Do you doubt that there will be another attack ?

If there is something the Republicans have become good at, it is making accusations- Women lie about rape! Minorities lie about voting! Poor people lie!

A Canard That Will Not Die: 'Legitimate Rape' Doesn't Cause Pregnancy

Akins has proof from doctors that rape pregnancies are rare!

"So, assault rape pregnancy is extremely rare. If we use the figure of 200, it is 4 per state per year. Even if we use
a figure of 500, we're talking about 10 rape pregnancies per state, per year."

In Pennsylvania, Republican state Rep. Stephen Freind asserted in 1988 that women rarely get pregnant from rape,
because violent attacks cause temporary infertility.

Reported the Philadelphia Daily News:

The odds that a woman who is raped will get pregnant are "one in millions and millions and millions," said state Rep. Stephen Freind, R-Delaware County

The reason, Freind said, is that the traumatic experience of rape causes a woman to "secrete a certain secretion" that tends to kill sperm.

1980, attorney James Leon Holmes-
"Concern for rape victims is a red herring because conceptions from rape occur with approximately the same frequency as snowfall in Miami."

Women do not get pregnant when raped because "the juices don't flow, the body functions don't work" during an attack, a state lawmaker said yesterday.

"The facts show that people who are raped -- who are truly raped -- the juices don't flow, the body functions don't work
and they don't get pregnant," said Aldridge, a 71-year-old periodontist. "Medical authorities agree that this is a rarity, if ever."

Later, Aldridge [71-year-old North Carolina state Rep. Henry Aldridge] defended his comments-

"To get pregnant, it takes a little cooperation. And there ain't much cooperation in a rape," he said.

Oh, Jesus, who I do not believe is listening but was otherwise cool. Please stop these people.

Kthx.
