A rare gem in modern pop culture....

I'd have to say Alicia Keys........she's a rare gem in the
pop culture that exists in the music world right now.....she
wrote most of the songs on her album "Songs in A Minor",
and performs the piano real well.......I play piano, and its
rare that many pop stars perform on "real live instruments"
anymore......I admire Alicia for that.

Shakira is not one I know a great deal about, obviouly missing the impact of her previous Spanish work. TO my mind she is an entertainer first, musician second. I may be totally off base here and would admit as much when and if my opinion changes.


(Anyone know Princess Superstar? If you like subversive hip-hop with comedy and an edge....check her shit out.)
