Feedback on new policy announcement.

I wonder whether the decision-makers (not sure who they are) are actually reading this thread. Does anyone know?

I’d like to point out that posting on pic hosting sites like imgbb isn’t a real solution, as their terms and conditions seem to state that they own whatever pictures are uploaded onto their website. Do correct me if I’m wrong. That probably means they can use or distribute the pictures there for as long as it’s uploaded onto their site.

The image below is of imgbb’s terms and conditions. I imagine other sites like postimg would have similar terms.

Edit: On reading it again I was probably wrong about this portion of the terms that I screenshotted, but I believe I’ve read it somewhere else in their terms and just can’t find it at the moment.

Postimages is somewhat better than ImgBB in this specific regard... according to its Terms of Use, if you delete your image from the public portions of the Postimages site, the license you granted them to use and distribute that image automatically terminates for future use. This means Postimages should stop redistributing the image after deletion, except for any copies already made, sublicensed, or otherwise distributed while the image was still hosted.

On the other hand, ImgBB’s license is described as “irrevocable” and “perpetual,” meaning it continues even after deletion, unless ImgBB itself chooses to revoke it. So, with ImgBB, deleting an image does not necessarily stop them from using or distributing it in the future.

How is imgur different from imgbb and postimages?
Nothing really any "vastly" different , Imgur just focuses on the community more , its more community oriented is all , the other two are more personal use and there's also the ad's part for using the free tier (How people move around the internet without adblock in this internet era ? I dont have a clue, but whatever)

They have similar TOS to Postimages so same content deletion rules that I already mentioned

If privacy is a thing you want about your stuff not being sold or used broadly , you will have to look at end-to-end encrypted services , even that if shared publicly becomes useless once sm1 screenshots/downloads the pictures and goes " Mine now! ".

Its not a pretty front , but its better than nothing ~

We used to be able to share from Dropbox, which was great because if you're sharing your own pic/meme/content, you don't have to sign away copyright like you do on image hosting sites. But, they've blocked Dropbox without warning or explanation 🤷‍♀️

There is alternatives , but how long until those get discontinued tho lol..

It would be a pity if the ‘no nudity’ rule is enforced here, since there isn’t really any safe alternative. Any other forum I mean, with a crowd that makes you feel as welcomed as the regular posters here (for the most part).

Posting here has definitely helped me gain confidence about my own body, and I bet it’s helped many others too.

You could host the images on a service like Proton Drive, and you can control when you want to stop sharing the images. If I remember right, they have about 2 GB on the free tier, which is a BUNCH of images unless you’re shooting 4K images and uploading them lol (which is probably the best, due to it being Swiss-based and them not fuckin’ around).

And they’re open source, so plenty transparent too~

There’s also MEGA cloud, which has much more storage-20 GB, I think? But control of shared link expiry is not a free feature unfortunately, so you’ll have to delete images on your side to stop the links from working.

Again, screenshots/downloading cannot be controlled lol~

There are always bad actors on the internet; it’s inherently going to be that way and continue~

No and even if they were it wouldn't change their minds. The reason for their decision most likely has nothing to do with either legal reasons or user feedback but is probably due to something else.

I wish there was a thread that Lit viewers/readers could access easily which would invite them to give their feedback. A big, bold new category on the front page asking our real followers what they would prefer….an all writing site, one with writing and images with people in some stage of dress ( this would be clearly defined for them, since we are getting any answers), or a site like it was before this bomb got dropped last Friday. Are we a closed community, meant only to entertain (and criticize) each other, or are we creating for a larger audience. I hope the answer is the latter.
Let’s get away from the two years of BETA readers who decided they much prefer no nudity and ask the regular folks who come to Lit because they know what they can find if they agree with this sudden cleansing. They are the “customers,” afterall.
Well said Llehlla!!

I read that some are concerned about the Ampics thread(s), I think there is a solution that will suffice for some. Multiple recipients / contributors can be set up in one PM conversation, this way you also get to control who sees your images. I have often been in threads where in place of a pic is *poof* so one must assume these people don't want everyone to see their picture but only a chosen few. This can be achieved in the PM space.

I believe the most in any lit pm is 6 people

Sometimes a pic is *poof* because people take it down after a week. Sometime the hosting service might take it down.

Your suggestion would work for some but I hope we will be able to keep AmPics. I have met so many lovely kind people there that I would not have met were I confined to only posting pics in convos with people I already know. For us consensual exhibitionists, it's that larger community of like minded souls we would miss. I do appreciate you thinking of what we can salvage if AmPics is taken away.

There have been comments from moderators that "nothing has changed".

Something has changed — something has come to a screeching (actually silent) halt; the EROTIC ART SEX ARTWORKS HUB has not uploaded any new work since April 14 (2025). I am guessing that area is "under review" and will either be modified or eliminated (or possibly "back to "business as usual"?)

Anyone have any clue? @Manu ? @Laurel ?

The comments from “the moderators” is that the forum rules have not yet changed. I don’t believe any of us are involved with publishing on the main site.
Alrighty, but it is a bit misleading. The announcement about "up coming"? changes are changes both here AND there.
And for me, personally, the changes to hand drawn/painted imagery is pretty huge.
My previous AV was, as far as I had ever seen/heard was ok, as it followed the art rules.

But if, hand drawn erotica/pornography/explicitness on the forums, is subject to...ummm.... subjectiveness, ie not appropriate in threads which are largely text. Then, I would extrapolate that those drawn images are not acceptable as AVs either.

Would you (as a moderator) say that is true? If so, then I had been breaking some rule for years.

Let readers and viewers of images/photos assume the responsibility for their experience. No nudity....you'll lose a lot of subscribers and business.

Subscribers and business? How much money do you think they are making off of the forum? Do you pay a subscription fee to participate here? I believe the forum comes at a cost to them; it is not the money making side of this site.
