Tennessee loudmouth gets 4 years after failing to convince a judge and jury he didn't know the members were sitting to do the work of the government in verifying the EC votes. The minimum sentence called for 70 months but the judge felt that would throw out of kilter the sentences already applied to different cases.

Matthew Bledsoe of Tennessee, who said “Where are those pieces of s--- at?" as he entered the U.S. Capitol, was convicted by a jury in July after he failed to convince them that he was unaware that Congress was certifying the 2020 presidential election when he entered the building.
"Your words, your actions, that day were clear," Howell said, noting it was hard for her to believe that when he joined a mob chanting "Nancy, Nancy" that he didn't realize that referenced House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jamie Carter told Howell on Friday that it was still "very early on" in the Jan. 6 investigation, and said it was "not an unreasonable expectation" that the Justice Department will ultimately bring charges against more than 2,000 people in connection with Capitol attack, noting that government was recruiting to "get bodies" to bring the cases to fruition. The total number of individuals who either entered the U.S. Capitol or assaulted law enforcement officers outside is estimated at approximately 3,000.

The FBI on Thursday arrested a New York lawyer, John O’Kelly of East Williston, New York. He faces two felony charges — assaulting, resisting or impeding officers, and civil disorder — along with four misdemeanor charges, according to court documents.
“MidWhiteCrisis,” was No. 294 on the FBI’s Capitol Violence page, which features images of more than 500 people wanted in connection with the Jan. 6 attack.
O'Kelly was previously an attorney for the Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, which believes that the Twin Towers were brought down by pre-planted explosives. In a 2019 lawsuit, the group sought to force the Justice Department to present their claims to a grand jury. A judge dismissed the lawsuit in March 2021, and an appeals court upheld the lower court ruling in August 2022.

rhodes' trial delayed as he catches covid; not clear if he's appearing remotely today or in person when he's no longer an infection threat.

The disruption comes almost a week after a juror was dismissed after testing positive for COVID. The federal courthouse in Washington where the trial is being held last week lifted its mask mandate, but the judge overseeing the trial was still requiring those not speaking to wear masks to avoid an outbreak. Still, lawyers and defendants were occasionally seen with noses exposed or masks pulled down under their chin.

Tennesseean Albuquerque Head has been sentenced to 7-1/2 years for assaulting Officer Fanone.

What is with the odd names these people carry?

dunno, but it's criminal giving a child that name and maybe contributed directly to his actions on the day. so much suffering! usually, there's a name, several other names, and a 'the 3rd' or summat following.

Interesting to note, the official FBI investigation-and we know how much the 'unbiased' fbi loves Trump- couldn't prove he was behind Jan 6th. Which is why charges were never filed and he's not in jail

Everything that has happened since is another grand standing agenda filled witch hunt costing the tax payers millions.

Equally interesting is in several polls most people in this country have totally lost interest in this topic. Guess they're all fascists more concerned with feeding their families or heating their homes, or not getting shot while walking down the street, than yet another leftwing screech fest.

Maybe if it wasn't the 100th time they've pulled the "we got him" more people would care.

'I wouldn't want to be arrested for it"
lmfao

In an interview with NBC Connecticut, Gino DiGiovanni, a GOP alderman from Derby, Connecticut admitted to being inside the Capitol after internet sleuths gave NBC Connecticut video of DiGiovanni on January 6 from open source surveillance video, NBC reported.
"I was there, I went inside there, and, you know, I didn't damage or break anything," DiGiovanni told NBC Connecticut. "Obviously, you got the pictures to prove it."

"I wouldn't want to be arrested for it," Gino DiGiovanni told NBC Connecticut. "I guess hindsight is 20-20."

Key Proud Boys leader pleads guilty in deal to testify in seditious conspiracy trial: report

"Details of the plea emerged in a pretrial hearing as the government ratchets up pressure against Tarrio and four other defendants who face trial in December on a charge of seditious conspiracy," The Washington Post reported. "During the hearing in federal court in Washington, Tarrio defense attorney Sabino Jauregui said that John Charles Stewart, 44, of Carlisle, Pa., pleaded guilty in June. Prosecutors interjected, and U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly immediately halted the public session to go behind closed-doors, which after resuming made no further mention of Stewart."

The real world is turning out to be much more real than the virtual world that revved up the right-wing incels to attempt an insurrection as revenge for their lack of social and sexual success. So nice to see these macho virtual warriors squirm and whine in court and in the prisons. Lock 'em up!

Tip 'o the hat again to Rory for starting this thread.

williams 'surprised' as judge sends her directly into custody as she awaits sentencing, having been fairly free to go places before trial and even bought a pink purse for the court appearance which a man accompanying her had to carry out with him.
NBC News describes Williams as a “far-right extremist,” and reports she is “a devotee of Nick Fuentes and a far-right, white nationalist movement she is affiliated with called the ‘Groypers.'” Fuentes has been described as a Christian nationalist, white nationalist, and “white supremacist leader and organizer.”

she was highly active organising and pushing the wandering dorks inside the building on the day of the insurrection, 'weaponising them' in a deliberate fashion

30 days, $2,000 fine for climbing a wall, entering a broken window, and wandering about inside for approx. 28 minutes chanting and taking pictures. Not his finest hour.

Delaware man was sentenced to jail time for joining the January 6 Capitol attacks after seeing the violence unfold on a Tinder date’s television.

According to court filings, Schaefer was initially at the house of a woman he had met on Tinder on 6 January 2021 in Alexandria, Virginia, about 20 minutes outside of Washington DC.
Schaefer then reportedly saw the attack on the Capitol on television and called an Uber to take him there so he could participate.
