Okay - just been listening to some old Santana tracks, and also bought his new CD recently, and I have to say ol' Carlos has got to be my favourite string-bender of all time . . .

What say you, other Lit music fans?

He's good, I'll give you that.

Jimmy Page comes to mind for me.

My favorite axe is Lucille (sp?)...

True . . .

tee hee tee hee

Very true, my friend . . . and I still think Jimmy's solo on Stairway To Heaven is one of my fave solos of all time :)

I also much appreciate some of Larry Carlton's work, especially on Steely Dan's stuff (who are probably my fave band of all time . . . but that's a different story!)

bigrednz attended the Santana concert this past
weekend and loved it. :)

Stevie Ray Vaughan is still his favourite though.

Yeh, ol' Stevie's good - I love him and Carlos Santana together on "Traffic Jam" - excellent stuff!

p.s. I'm jealous of bigrednz - I've never got to see the man Carlos in concert :(

PM me about Traffic Jam?

Bigrednz would love
to hear about this.

And I will ask him to PM you
details of the concert.

It was very enjoyable from what he has told
me. :)

Sooooooo many!

I just can't pick one but here are a few of the ones I really like...

Frank Marino

Jason Becker

Steve Vai

Joe Satriani

Randy Rhodes

Bernie Torme

Eric Johnson....

I could go on but I think you get the picture :)

Sorry, I don't have any details on "Traffic Jam", such as where and when it was recorded, I just happened to come across an mp3 track somewhere, and thought it was worth a listen - and boy was I right!
Have a look on the 'net and see if you can find a copy - unfortunately it's too big a file to e-mail to you (nearly 6Mb) :(

John Mayberry, The only answer to that is...

Tony MacAlpine

Vinnie Moore

Joey Taffola...

Ah... Road Runner Records. Don't 'cha just love 'em? :)

[edited so it made a little more sense]

Jimmy Page easily tops my list. As for favotite guitar........Pagey's `58 Les Paul is just a killer.
