I am currently enjoying Kahlua with Diet Coke with Splenda. It's sweeter than I expected. (DC-Splenda was the only kind of cola I had in the house when I got the idea to try this.)

Between The Sheets recipe:

1 oz brandy
1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz triple sec
sweet and sour mix

Pour cognac, rum and triple sec into an ice-filled rocks glass. Fill with sweet and sour mix, and serve.

Godiva Chocolate Martini recipe:

1 1/2 shots Godiva® chocolate liqueur
1 1/2 shots creme de cacao
1/2 shot vodka
2 1/2 shots half-and-half

Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake and pour into a chilled cocktail glass.

Strawberry Daiquiri recipe:

1/2 oz strawberry schnapps
1 oz light rum
1 oz lime juice
1 tsp powdered sugar
1 oz strawberries

Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

Absolut and ice. Although a little crystal lite powder mixed in is a nice change of pace.

Vodka on ice is always nice!

When I'm not drinking, I like cranberry and orange juice mixed (though the waitress kept calling them Shirley Temples), but I had that new peach absolut with orange juice and enjoyed it. It's called Absolut Apeach I think.

With all the meds I am on, Alcohol is not a good thing to do often. My favorite drink instead is Cranberry juice cocktail with Sprite. It tastes like a mixed alcoholic drink! (OK maybe only to me!)

When I was drinking one of my favorites was a Sangria punch a friend taught me to make:

2 gallons Rose Wine
2 bottles Triple Sec
1 bottle Everclear
2 - 2 liter bottles Sprite
1 can Hawaiian punch
sliced lemons, limes and oranges to taste
mix everything in a 5 gallon bucket and let the fruit slices steep for a bit for best flavor.
Add Ice

Drink carefully.

I had downed about 1 and a half large mug of this in a short amount of time before I remembered it was mostly strong alcohol. About 15 minutes after drinking the first mug the buzz hit full force.

That was one of the rare occasions I woke up with a hang over.

One of the finest drinks I've ever had is a Japanese Mojito at the delicious Japanese/Brazilian fusion restaurant in Miami Beach, Sushi Samba. They make it with fresh mint leaves and a green tea liquer.

This is sorta bizarre, but the other day I was sippin' Parrot Bay Rum in Orange Juice.

Heh, I am on seven meds myself, and I suspect at least one is contraindicated with alcohol...but I drink anyway. Not often, maybe once a month, maximum three drinks at a time. (More than that and I just fall asleep.)

My lion's drink:

Tawny

1 oz. brandy/cognac
3 oz. pineapple juice
finish with champagne, serve fluted.

It's *gorgeous*. Bit of a panty dropper, though. ;)

That's one of my favorites! tho I use coconut rum, or mango rum.

That and I make a milk shake with cookie dough ice cream, milk and a little kaluha. :cathappy:

The only alcohol I like is Cherry Brandy (without the dreaded egg), with Cola light and lots of ice. My limit is one, 2 at the most and I am out to it, and usually only once every 6-12 months. Just am not into alcohol. Mostly I thrive on Cola Light and ice constantly.

Had this one while out with the girls one night.

Slippery Nipple recipe:

1/2 oz Bailey's® Irish cream
1/2 oz butterscotch schnapps

Serve as is.

(Another thing I won't do is diet anything. The aftertaste of the sweeteners they use these days is just icky to me. I refuse to diet anyway. Eat less, yes, cut anything out completely that I enjoy, no.)

I used to feel the same, but now I have gotten used to it (or perhaps it improved by the time I tried again), apart from the artificial sugar for tea etc., I have no problem and actually find the regular Coke yuk now. Is a bit concerning though that many products such as drinks use Aspartame which has been linked to cancer so hopefully they will start looking for alternatives. Is not so much a diet thing as a health issue where I am much better without added sugar and salt in my life.

Do you have Diet Coke with Splenda in the Netherlands? Pepsi One is another Splenda-sweetened drink, and Diet Rite. Although perhaps you have some we've never heard of here!

I love alcohol - so I don't drink it much anymore

My son and I will have the same drink when I'm over playing Risk with him and his sons (my grandkids)

Scotch - neat

I love my morning tea
English Breakfast w/ sugar and cream

Then coffee to get my ass moving
