There were five in the pack. They spread out around them when their charge was countered. One rushed in on Jep, but he cut a large gash down its side.

Al'ika was fighting her own worg, a few gashes already in her leg. It was rabid, foaming at the mouth, and blocking her moves. "A little help would be nice!" she called.

"We're all a little preoccupied, dear!" growled Issak, concentrating. He spoke druidic words and the sky clouded overhead. A lightning bolt struck down his worg and he rushed over, clubbing the worg Al'ika was fighting. It was hurt but still fighting.

"Dammit," Al'ika growled before stabbing the worg in it's abdomen. She quickly spoke a spell, and fire consumed the rabid worg, and she smiled up at Issak. "Thanks."

"We'll have to look at that later," he said, guarding her back. Jep and Keth were holding their own, having cut down all but two. The remaining worgs looked nervous and were backing up slowly to regroup.

Al'ika spoke quietly and froze the two worgs in place. "Chop 'em up, boys," she said, leaning a little on her brother's shoulder.

Jep and Issak rushed the stuck worgs, chopping them down. Keth came over to guard Al'ika since her leg was wounded again.

"I'm fine," Al'ika told them. She hobbled over to her pack and pulled out some water, cleaning away blood and dirt. "We'll have to move soon," she added, inspecting the wounds. "Issak, pass me my needle and thread."

Issak tossed her over a potion, "Have a Hallowbrook special,' he said. "It will work quicker, but I'll need to cleanse the disease later."

Al'ika laughed and took a swig. "Yes, of course," she said with a light tease in her voice. "Shall we continue?"

"Let's," he said. "We still have a couple of days ahead of us and that just looked like a scouting pack."

"Indeed. I'll go up front, Keth to the rear," Al'ika said. She stood up and shouldered her pack, sheathed her sword, and set off. "We'll rest again at sunset."

The rest of the day was tense but uneventful. Keth and Jep cut a clearing for them to set up camp in as Issak began to build shelters out of tranches and leaves. "Camouflage is best for us, I think," he said.

Al'ika nodded, starting the fire. "Good idea," she said, working on the fire. Her body was tired and sore, but she felt fine. She sat down in front of the fire.

Everyone took turns on watch, letting the others relax and eat. Finally, Keth came back and said, "Al'ika, you are up."

"Alright," Al'ika said, waking up and getting up from her bedroll. "Anything of interest to report?" she asked.

Al'ika smiled and kissed them all. "Alright, I'm going to go keep watch. You three behave yourselves." She winked and went and took up her post.

The mountain air was cool and crisp as Al'ika peered into the darkness. Occasionally she would hear rustling, but it was just a few animals roaming around curiously observing the intruders in their habitat.

Al'ika's eyes were becoming weary, but she kept herself alert until it came time for her to relieve herself of duty. She walked over to Jep's tent. "Oi! Your turn!" she barked.

Jep crawled out of his lean-to and groggily muttered, I thought the point was to not alert goblins to our presence." before wandering off into the darkness.
