Fantasia: Chapter Two (OOC)

Due to our leveling system, Mai's on the low end of the power stick.

It would take time for her to heat up the bars enough for them to be moved/etc. She can easily light up on fire things that are flammable but would have a hard time making say a ton of stone catch on fire without oil/bombs/etc. Right now, she can conjure and toss fireballs out up to 3 meters or so. She can let herself go aflame and anything that she touches will catch on fire.

Any extreme use of magic will result in consequences. Heh

If she chooses to let her magic hold sway, it'll be a big show for a limited amount of time and then bad things will happen. :D

Mai tends to aim for disabling over death but she's no wimp and will kill if necessary. She'll more likely choose to save life over taking it.

Stephen needs to stay strong and resist the bountiful juicy Witch as long as possible. Maybe he should say long prayers or recount days in his youth. Why'd he sign up with Jorn anyways? I mean, we kinda know but ya know. Ideas.

Connell needs to let something slip so we know that there's something wrong. Whether it's outright going after Jorn or whatever. It's hard to do "something" when there doesn't "seem" to be anything wrong.

Yup. Mattroy is in charge but who says people follow orders blindly? That's why we should work out what we're doing.

I don't see how anyone would think to lock up Connell unless he goes after the king, and in that case he's just as likely to get killed as locked up. I definitely don't see them having him join the rescue. Connell doesn't want Stephan to die, the best play in his opinion would be to wait until the rescue party leaves, take out Jorn, then join up with the rescue and since no one would know about Jorn, it wouldn't get in the way of the mission. Until after. And since Stephan is in danger and there is no apparent danger in camp, there doesn't seem to be a reason to wait. The fate of the world depends on it and after all, isn't that more important than one little king?

Save the healer. Save the world.

So it will be up to Mai and NPC's to save the king. Of course with Mai tied up and confined to a tent on the opposite side of the clearing from him and ordered not to go anywhere near him, this could be a problem. :D

Oh and the fact she has no idea who Connell is and just what would appear sneaky. Still a sneaky character is a sneaky character.

I am going to laugh at the irony of both rules dying so early in the game. *grins*

HC, did you think you were gonna be knocked out like a semi-useful pawn?!?!

NPCs can delay him long enough for the mage to burn through her ropes.

Also just one question. If it comes right down to it, a dead healer saves the world as well right?

I'm sure if Stephen dies, that just means the Witch has to find another suitable "good" body for baby 4 evil god making.

I mean, the Witch says Stephen will be okay after succumbing to her and having sex but who's going to believe the evil goddess?

I always post from the perspective of my character. Let's see.
As much as Mai can't be trusted to come along, she equally isn't trustworthy enough to be left behind in camp.
I'll post for Mattroy tonight, and I'll try to announce my decision. Yes, I understand the gravity of my choices that's why I'm tactically following this.
Because logically speaking Saving the healer will save the world but rp-cally speaking (lol) We are not aware of this. My character is only risking his neck because he has been ordered to. Otherwise, he'd have ordered all to guard the king till dawn.

Lol, this is a twisted fun freaking rp. I love it.

Just be your character guys. Girl.

hotcider, im not saying stephan will actually agree, because he's the one that understands what the witch actually wants from him and if he was to accept he'd screw everyone over, but yeah as i said i'll probably get up a post after everyone else if i got nothing else to do

I think you should pray alot. The life of a cleric. The journey of Stephen. Ha~

" now she has sent an assassin, one pretending to be of service to the king yet as venomous as a desert cobra."

Did I miss the part where everyone learned that Connell was coming? I don't believe the characters know this...

I'll wait for both Gillian and Weyland to come together, we three should agree on a particular thing. Yes, I'm currently in command but that doesn't mean I shouldn't seek my friends contributions and suggestions. They are my friends right?

Just something of note,
****Mattroy and Emeline were both lovers. okay about to be. They both loved each other but were unable to be together because of Emeline's divine powers and duties and an overly protective brother.
****Mattroy's parents were killed by magic users, his love was also killed by a witch, a magic user. So Yes, he does have issues with Magic.

Mattroy thinks the assassin to be Mai, the fire mage. He's not even aware of any person called Connell.
As a tactician, he just believes a stunt like an assassin to finish off the job will be sent. Call it premonition. Lol.
I was referring to Mai.

Okay, where is the part where we are making a plan together for the story? Because if we don't get our acts together and figure out how we will play our characters, our beloved GM is going to grill us ALL over a pretty flame.

Stalzyn, I'm confused. In your post #41, Mattroy is not sure what to think about Mai. Then you make it sound like you totally don't trust Mai and she's the assassin in post #45.

If you make her go on the rescue mission, there is NO guarantee that she will be good for the mission because she will act true to character.

So, what's the plan? I'd like to be in on the plan.

Connell has snuck back into camp. if asked several guards may have seen him but no one will probably volunteer the information. As he has now changed his appearance main characters of Weyland and Gillian will still think he is captured and believe the rescue mission is about saving both Stephan and Connell.

As for Gillian being friends with Mattroy, he doesn't know you so how can he be friends with you. If you don't know Connell it means you were not present during the planning stages of the rescue mission, thus Gillian has never met you. You are just some knight who has been put in charge because of your rank. You are going to have to prove yourself worthy to me to get my respect before friendship.

Slapping an asset in chains has not started you off well.

To be honest, no one knows if Mai is an asset other than she actually did what she said she would do: help out.

The distrust in the current scene is valid. How we deal with the situation is up to us as the writers. I'd like to create something plausible that would stay in character for all of us.

It comes to reason that someone needs to be the one to bring people together. It makes sense for Mattroy to be that person because his character is close to Jorn.

I'm fine with Mattroy being in charge, etc. I just want us as WRITERS to figure out what we're doing in this story so we can kick ass. Not have our asses kicked because we aren't communicating with each other.

Of course I was talking about character. As a writer I can have Gillian work with him no problems. As I have said, he is in charge. I would like a strategy meeting called. Don't wait for us to all wander together, call for us and a couple of NPC's you make up and discuss a plan.

Also to give us a chance to save Connell and for that matter Jorn, Connell needs to stuff up somewhere. Of course he is going to wait until the main party leaves on the rescue mission, common sense. Perhaps he goes to kill the king and the headhunter shows up and they battle alerting guards and Mai. (Oh the irony.) Of course that brings forth the question of who he is and what he was doing in the kings tent etc.

True, but then again you wrote a very good argument for the witch, and I don't think we could fault Stephan for succumbing :) If Connell was in his shoes it would be done already.

Basically, Stephan needs to be freed immediately. I suggest you guys head out right away, and leave Mai in the camp. We'll have to work out a Mai/Connell/Jorn/Headhunter thing here while the rest free Stephan and then we'll have to deal with whatever fallout has happened. Hopefully we are all still alive and on the same side afterwards, but it's looking doubtful...

Also, I just want to say. Next time, Connell is saving the world. We'll see how far he gets with The Witch. lol

They are my friends right?

No. Weyland is a merc. He follows the money. On the side of good though, hence his disgust at the girl beheaded by the witch and dislike of the the mage arrested. The 'now' King is his employer. You are his employer's general. http://forum.literotica.com/showpost.php?p=74370828&postcount=17

I'm putting him on a three month contract. Medieval times war was almost a seasonal thing. Winter being a bad time to fight and planting and harvesting taking priority over fighting. Even by the worst of leaders. Cavalry and large armies need dry ground to march. Remember Staniss' ill-fated winter march on Winterfell? One good blizzard and you're eating your horses.

Cold, wet and frosty. I'm figuring the harvest is in. Time to get some fighting in before winter makes the movement of armies damn near impossible, plus the need to mount a rescue. Let's say it's mid-October. Deep winter and spring are times of unemployment for many mercs. Living off earnings until next fighting season. Or in Weyland's case blacksmithing in a nice warm smithy, hammering out spears, swords and armour.

He is the King's man until January first. Hopefully, maybe, probably. That's the problem with hiring mercs.

lol Let me clarify some things here.

I know I make the game challenging, but my goal is not to end the world or the team. What would be the point of that? That wouldn't even be a story.

As I said, every decision has a consequence and each consequence won't be the end of the game, but it will change how the game goes and brings about something "different." But yeah, don't think that HC is here just to kill everyone. Not at all.

I am glad that everyone is feeling the challenge this game is presenting though. It feels like a real game, don't it? That was the point. This was supposed to be like a video game with the difficulty, xp, etc. lol The game is always capable of getting easier. But, we're a team and everyone makes decisions. Some we like and some we don't. :)

Feels more like a DnD adventure than video game. In DnD it can take 10 min to destroy the BBEG and 2 hours to cross a simple pit trap.
