Fake avatars ...

What's your view on people using stock shots of other people off the Net and pretending that it's them?

Of course, in some cases, it's more a case of not saying it ISN'T them, but rather never actually admitting it IS them .... quite cleverly done in some cases .... but it's still fraud, isn't it?

I'd love to hear other people's views on this one .... :)

At last... I found you :)

And I believe that is you in your AV's  ;)

I think it is best for some people to use "fantasy" AV's, it helps to recognise a persons thoughts, feelings and even ambitions... I write fantasy so why not use fantasy based AV's...

Regarding pictures in albums on here... yes you are right, stealing other peoples images isn't nice...

I've been busy!! Have you missed me as much as I have missed you? :)

Interesting question Higher. I have never used a picture of myself as an avatar. I usually try to have something that sends a message about the thread I developed. I do have a picture of myself in my profile, but never considered using it as an avatar. As far as people claiming an avatar is actually them when it is just a download from somewhere else, yes, that is fraud and you have to question the integrity of that individual. Perhaps it is who they wish to be and it makes them feel good about themselves? It would be an interesting psychological study. To be honest, unless I meet someone in person and see the reality, the avatar is fiction anyway.

The sexy AV are cool, as long as they don't claim to be them,.
