Not I. I was off for a good long while, but am back on them. I suppose in the long run, they willkill me, but in the short run, they provide relief for my headaches. It might work if my roomate were to quit, I can't drive when in the grips of a bad one, but as long as they are around the house, I'll never be able to pass them up I'm afraid.

Sorry to hear that, but you gave it a go! Give it a go again in a while, you never know.

Yep, it's almost impossible to give up when someone around you is still smoking. I know, I tried many times before. But, I'm never going back now!

Even better!!!

You're a cuisine chameleon? You'd be interesting at a buffet.

I'd better kneel down then. How else would I kiss you?

If you knelt down, I could give you head. If you stayed standing, I could give you knee. Some women are into that.

I am an ex smoker myself. Its a pain to quit but after a while not so bad anymore.

I am very impressed Tatelou! :)

In answer to your question. US sizes and UK are different.

http://www.metrication.com/

US UK
AU, NZ Europe
6 8 38
8 10 40
10 12 42
12 14 44
14 16 46
16 18 48

As you can see, size 16 UK is size 14 US. Which I think is the current average.

I believe it comes about from where on the body the inches are measured at?

Not to sure about it.

Anyway, I could stand to tone up myself. Gave up soft drinks, chips, and candy. Just need to really exercise now.

Cool, thanks for that! Ok, so I'd be a size 12 in the US. Not bad, not bad at all!

Yeah, that's the thing: toning up. It's the flabby bits that I don't like. My abs bar has helped a lot there, though.

Thanks, babe!

Congrats on your quitting, too. It is bloody difficult, isn't it? But so worth it!

Congratulations Lou! Fantastic job. At the risk of this beginning to sound like the boasting thread...I have lost 24 pounds since the first day of January. I exercise, watch what I eat, drink two liters of water a day, and have given up soda. I still have a long way to go, but we can do this. BBW's unite! We can become Little Bitty Women and still be beautiful...

Ok, before I begin: *GIRLY THREAD ALERT*

The good think about a girly thread is there are lots of women to lust after... :D

Hooray for the losers! :nana: I'm a loser, too!

Let's see, it's been -70# over the last 30 months (low carbing). No backsliding, either, although the loss has slowed considerably in the last year. I have perhaps 20# to go to reach my goal, but I don't care if it takes 10 more years.

I put on 50# with each license-to-eat pregnancy and then only took 25# off afterwards. That adds up! Add another couple dozen pounds for a 5-year bout with depression/fibromyalgia and there I was -- miserably unhealthy and not feeling the least bit attractive.

Happy to say that I've turned my labs COMPLETELY around, too. I was borderline diabetic when I started this journey. My GP is flabbergasted that my cholesterol and blood pressure are so amazing given that I live on cheese, eggs, bacon, beef, cream ... all those low carb staples.

*sigh* I'd better stop or I'll start sounding like an infomercial.

A toast to the losers! :rose:

Aww Mat just cos everyones talking thin doesnt mean they are, I could do with losing some.

Just dont try liposuction with a Dyson, it could just give you unexplainable lovebites!
:D

Don't worry all, you haven't lost the weight. I've been collecting it for you. Please feel free to come and retrieve it.

Cloudy, I feel your pain with small fingers and wrists. That's actually how I know how much weight I've gained. I intentionally got my wedding ring a little big - got a size 4 1/2 - in case I gained weight. Now, when I take it off (which I can't do without first sticking my finger in my mouth) I not only have a dent in my finger, but you can tell where each and every diamond in the ring is. Damn, I miss my tiny fingers. *sob*

I've lost 5" off my waist and 35 lbs since July.

hmmm....perhaps all of the indoor late night exercise we have engaged in has helped us? Just a thought.

"How I lost 50 lbs. on the Literotica Diet and Porn Star Exercise Program!"

I think this could finally be the big cross-over bestseller that brings smut to the masses....

No wonder I keep gaining.

offers to help you reverse that trend are already on the table and you know it....

Hon, you don't realize how little-boned I am. My wrists measure about 4 1/2 inches around - an adult sized bracelet will literally fall off my arm. I can forget wearing a watch unless it has a leather band, and I can poke more holes in it. And I wear a size 4 ring.

WOW! You sound like my husband and daughter! He is 5'11" and weighs about 140 (107 when we married). She is 9... just hit 52 pounds and wears a child's 8.

Mat, I am definately not thin...my AV is a pic from Christmas 2004.

:nana: :nana: :nana: for all of the losers!

I quit smoking for 6 years. My daughter was the class bully her first year of 1st grade (yes the tiny one I mentioned). Spending nearly every day in the principal's office proved to be stressful and I gave in to the cravings that had never gone away. I WILL quit again... someday.

Lou..for me the main thing is I feel healthy. I will always be a BBW because of the way I'm built (child bearing hips and big boobs*L*) but now I feel so much healthier and you can see my waist again and i only have 1 and a bit chins (compared to the 3 I had a year ago*L*) and I can do so much more...I have so much more energy.

I did do something drastic to begin with, I did a detox diet...oh boy that was fun *L* no wheat, no dairy, no processed food, no sugar, no alcohol, no caffeine and no meat. I did it for a month, lots of water and fruit juice (still mostly all I drink now) pulses and unusal grains (millet is edible for humans as well as budgies ya know!) and tons of fruit and veg and it was a great challenge which showed me some stuff. I lost close to a stone in that month actually!

Anyhow, that was a kick start for me and the rest I've lost by excercising more and by literally eating more fruit and veg and drinking more water and by having low fat mayo and soft cheese....those are basically the only changes I've really made.

Mat...don't get down love, weight comes off at a slow rate....a pound or so a week (and sometimes it's gone on for me*L*) so just go with it. As long as your healthy love thats the main thing :)

I'm 5"9 and weigh 124kg which I think is about 19 1.2 stone and I'm a size 20 on top and about a 22 on the bottom, my cholesterol is actually lower than average, my blood pressure normal for the first time EVER and I would happily stay around here, but i seem to keep losing weight, so I guess I'll go a bit thinner till I kinda balance out *LOL*

Anyhow...what this long waffly post really means (sorry Lou) is that it's your health that matters and how you feel...not the size of your waist or your weight measurement.
