Hi. I have been lurking here for a bit. Time to come out and ask a question.

I was wondering if excessive hair on a woman would affect a mans sexual relationship with her? When I say body hair I mean thick/dark hair on their breasts, stomach, arms, and butt.

I ask this because I have a friend who is excessively hairy like this. She has never dated because this has affected her self-esteem so much. She thinks this type and amount of body hair is more taboo that being obese in our society.

With the obsession our society seems to have with hairless people, I can see why it affects her self-esteem. I'm a bit on the hairy side myself, but I try to use Nair or hair trimmers as much as possible. There are many ways of hair removal, so if she's very self-conscious about it, she can always try those. Then again, there are some men who actually love body hair on women.

Some people just naturally have more body hair than others. However, excessive body hair in women can sometimes be a sign of a hormonal imbalance, in which case a trip to the doctor is in order.

She has used nair and waxing but I think she just got tired of using them on her whole body all the time. Now she just uses nair on her face.

She went to the doctor and got tested. Unfortunately, turns out it is genetic. She actually has a very low testosterone level.

Hmm...electrolysis? (spelling?) It's pricey, but she may want to try to invest in that.

I have two female friends who had excessive facial hair (enough to classify as rather thick beards when it grew out) who had electrolysis done to remove it. Their skin was a little irritated during the sessions, but they both say the end result was well worth the time, irritation and money. It might be something your friend would want to look into if she's unhappy with things as they are.

It's actually something my mom says I should do for my facial hair when I'm older and have a steady job. It'll probably save more in the long run than constant waxing.

That would be good for her if it was just her face. She has issues with her whole body and probably won't be able to afford the cost to remove all that hair till she's past thirty.
Even though she has had no experience with men poor girl knows this would affect her sex life. She even told me she felt her body is "nasty".

I try to give her positive advice, but i can't really help her since I don't have the same problem. Plus, she thinks anything positive i say about her is just because I’m her friend. Very frustrating

There may be websites where she can find info or other people with the same issue and see how they've dealt with it. I know I get really self-conscious about the darkness of my hairs (and I guess in perspective, it isn't that bad) so it makes me feel gross sometimes. I wish her luck. :rose:

Would it make her feel better do you think to point out that there are men who like hairy women, and have her do some searching on the web to see the different porn sites devoted to that?

I'm afraid that might not help though, as then she might feel she's a "fetish object" rather than a desirable woman?

well, i'm embarrassed to say that i'm in the same boat as your friend. i have the same problem in most of the same areas. i try not to let it get the best of me, but sometimes i just find myself hating who i am and thinking i'm gross. however, to deal i use a number of things such as nair, bleach (for the arms) and the good ol' razor. i'm also considering getting laser hair removal very soon...which i hear is very effective.

I find a natural woman very erotic. It's a preference that I have had for the past few years. Let it GROW!!!

Just thought i'd share that

I`ve had PCOS since i was 18, and im still suffering with it.

As long as a woman is happy with the way she is I'd say keep it natural and let her get rid of whichever she feels conscious about as far as body hair while keeping which she doesn't mind.

Electrolysis would be a huge waste of $$ with that amount of hair. I spent 5 years with weekly treatments to my "man beard" and was still shaving almost daily. I also found out the hard way that if in fact it is a hormone issue it can be almost impossible to treat completely. Every time your hormones in your body change.. ie ovulation, birth control pills, pregnancy, weight gain, weight loss, diabetes etc you can have a whole new growth even when it's been long gone. 1 depo shot ruined my 5 years of electrolysis. I now do laser every 4 months to keep things in check but she made it clear since it is hormonal I will probebly never be "hair free" on my man beard and thats something I live with.

One thing I have learned thus far from people-watching. No matter WHAT you think, there is someone for everyone. No matter how hairy, bitchy, thin, fat, polite, rude, rich, or poor. Someone out there is going to look at your friend and think that she is the sexiest thing on two legs and she'll rock their world. It might take a lot of looking, and it might be that the person isn't who she expects it will be, but my god. If some of the people i've seen over the years can manage to get married, I'm quite positive your friend can manage to get a date, get laid, and probably have a happy marriage should she so desire. Just my .02
