She's ashamed of us! I'd be hurt, if it weren't for the fact that I always call this a Writers' Forum when mentioning it to people in the real world...
You mean it's not? I put the url on my CV! Maybe that's why they never call...except to ask me out.

Is that what it is? You're getting a lot of emails? Well, now I know why you ignore all my filthy PMs... it was either that or the warnings from Lauren...

Spain 1- 0 Greece at half time....

Damn... Basinas isn't playing for Greece and after transfering him in for Kallstrom :(

But still Puyol and Raul Bravo are getting me plenty of points at the moment :) hope Spain can hang on to this or get more till the end without conceding!

Greece - Spain 1-1.

5 predictor points to me. Woo!

No wait, I changed that. Damn! :D

Noooooo

And it was all going so well... Puyol and Casillas unbeaten, Raul assist to Morientes...

* sob *

LOGIC: Listen up Lou and the rest of you!

A frenchman can cook and make passionate love, therefore he can play football, and please the crowds.

An Englishman? Can smoke a lot.

:D

Proof positive that Englishmen are better lovers than French.

English men can stay on top through 90 minutes and still come second.

Lol.

Ah, I predicted a win for Spain and a draw between Portugal and Russia. Looks like no points at all for me today. :(

And now that the red card is given it will be a certain win for Portugal. Oh well, at least it's good for the general mood in the country when Portugal advances to the next rounds.

Not over yet Snoops, even if Portugal win today they still need at least a point against Spain. You can't see Russia beating Greece, they will hardly have a team left by the end of this game, yellow cards, red cards, injuries and people sent home for diagreeing with the Manager. They need at least one more goal to be ahead of Spain on goal difference if they draw their game.

No ... Portugal needs to win their game vs. Spain in order to advance. If they draw it, Spain has 5 points, Portugal only 4 ...

The red card was wrong though, wasn't it?

Scolari finally put in the team everybody knew would play better and he had always refused: The entire defense and midfield of Porto players (with Jorge Andrade) and Figo, Pauleta and Simão up front. Deco is having a great game - as usual - and if things continue this way, I have no doubt that Portugal will win today and will win again against Spain.

Today's results put Greece in the Quarter Finals no matter what happens on the last day, but Portugal will need to beat Spain to qualify. No other result matters. And with today's team, they will.

Yeh, looking at the replay he didn't deliberately handle. On the other hand he did bring the man down illegally when he was clear through on goal so maybe the ref gave him a red for that.

Yeah, but we can only see that on the 10th slow motion replay. I don't think anyone can blame the referee...

I'm not sure about that. doesn't matter anyways, Portugal was clearly the better team and will win it one way or the other.

So Spain - Portugal could be a real thriller, yeah !

I disagree, seemed obvious to me that the ball hit his chest, not his hand. The ref could not have been sure and therefore should not have given red.

Guess I feel some sympathy because its the sort of bad decision that Englan often falls foul of...

The ball got caught in his chest, but he made a move to grab the ball afterwards, stopping an inch short. There's no way anyone could have seen that there wasn't handball unless in slow-motion replay. ;)

I did feel sorry for Ovchinikov - he used to be a Porto player - but can't blame the ref. The red card ended up not benefiting Portugal that much, anyway...

funny that, how a sending off can sometimes spur a team on.
Still, I'm glad Portugal are still in the competition, being the home nation n'all.
When will they allow TV refs for deadball situations
