Escalated Libido in late 40's?

We are a couple in our late 40's, and she is hornier now than any time we've been together. She has probably just started menopause based on no regular periods for the past three months, but the last three months have been the highest sex drive of all. Seems like it gets higher as time goes by. Husband is not complaining .

Her needed procedure is a hysterectomy as well, although she is not removing her ovaries. Her issue is uterine fibroids. She had some removed right before we got married, and then they started back right before she got pregnant with our daughter. They've come back, and regardless of menopause, the OB/GYN wants it out. Knowing that in a year or so that coming out and taking her from a size 14 down to a 10 or 8 even turns her on more.

So, I guess we're just going to enjoy the ride as long as we can...

Seriously, if your wife is hornier than ever, don't look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth; put your cock in it. Women often reach their sexual peak later in life and it's not unusual for pre-menopausal women to be hornier than ever. Even as a man, I remember having some sort of "extra horny" period in my 40's. If they are just removing her uterus and not the ovaries, and I would question that, unless her ovaries have stopped producing eggs, then she won't need hormone therapy and should just go through the normal menopause as the ovaries slow down the production of hormones.

My wife had uterus and ovaries removed years ago and it did not affect her sex drive too much. Dryness and need for lube is a different issue but we also spend a lot of time enjoying mutual oral. Getting older need not be a death sentence. Sexual desire and interest are more a matter of attitude than hormones. Hormones drive young adults to reproduce.
