A sad tragedy occurred near me this last week...

Fifteen horses perish in barn fire

December 13, 2008

At least 15 horses have died in a stable fire in Washington state.

The fire occurred early on Thursday evening in Pierce County, east of Tacoma. A stable alarm activated and firefighters - less than 2km down the road - were quickly on the scene but the blaze had taken a strong hold.

None of the horses housed in the barn survived.

Firefighters had been unable to enter the barn until the fire was under control because of thick smoke.

It is believed the fire was caused by a space heater that was left on in the tack room.

Most of these animals were older horses including one owned by one of the firefighters who responded to the fire...The fire was put out quickly but all the horses had succumbed to smoke inhalation..

Very sad. Anyone know if there were any fire extinguishers installed? Seems we put those in every commercial building we build but nothing we live in, let alone:mad: our pets live in.
:confused::mad::(

Yes there were but the smoke was so thick that the stable owner couldn't get to anything...

Ah I love horses... They are beautiful animals...

And how is that no less than 4 people from Nashville, TN made it to this thread?

Fo along while I lived in Estonia, and these pics are of one of my best friends there. They are not nude, nor really sexual in anyway... However, I do think she is quite the looker. And the last one is me before I went to the Army.
