Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing and . . . wait for it . . . Telly Savalas.
Related, in the loosest manner possible, and I do mean loosest -- to The Thing From Another World/The Thing.
It is a must see.

Doesn’t this movie have a “werewolf break” for the audience to guess who the werewolf is? Or was that something else? The Beast Must Die (1974).
I found this five or six years back and it's become part of my werewolf rotation.
It's sort of murder mystery werewolf horror. Think golden-age murder mystery weekend meets werewolf amidst a setting of seventies funk.
Yep. You read that correctly.
To top it off, Peter Cushing has a minor role as one of the guests, an archaeologist with a sideline in loup-garou and some curious theories on the disease transmission and likely murky end.
The owner of the isolated manse is . . . wait for it . . . a big game hunter who has selected his guests based on their lycanthropic possibilities.
*wiggles eyebrows*
The seventies were a weird time for movies.
Well, really, for so many things.
I mean, I won't disagree. I remember seeing him in something as a child and finding his brand of machismo (or whether it is) kinda repellent.I watched it this morning and I gotta say... he was hot. Last time I saw him was when I was a kid and my opinion was that he was old. My opinion has changed.
Oh, yeah. I've totally seen that.
I'm 10 minutes in and the horrible 70s music is killing me. I might not make it.The Beast Must Die (1974).

I finished it, but there was no happy ending.Uh oh. This does not sound promising.
Umm. I am . . . entirely unsure how to take that.I finished it, but there was no happy ending.

I'm going to assume that quirky did not overcome 70's funk.
Unless you have some type of . . . tradition at the end of horror movies.
#nojudgement
no traditions! It was a horrible movie.
Favorite werewolf movie(s)?Ooooooh! Let me know if you watch!
It's super strange, but it's quirky mix of werewolf murder mystery weekend just works.
Wait. I feel this calls for a disclaimer. I make no guarantees!!!
It's . . . offbeat.
It wasn't a happy ending for the movie either.Also . . . I think . . . I might be relieved.
Gah! As usual, a direct question immediately empties my mind!
