Intriguing thread VT! Coming in at the tail end I'll try to add my thoughts.

Age doesn't matter. I play a lot of social video games and have equal fun chatting on vent or TeamSpeak or raid call with an 18 year old or an 88 year old. I particularly enjoy chatting one on one on Skype as video chat though, but don't do that as much anymore as I'm cutting down on my sedentary video game playing. Always have to be doing something though so that means they have to listen to me panting while hiking or walking. Or screaming when water sprinklers get me all wet.

I think most of my friends I talk to are in their late 20s, I prefer it if they are more mature for their age. Only reason being is the hobbies I have seem to have a lot in that age range. I however am much older, so of course enjoy speaking to people my age too. And I'm open minded enough to talk to people older than me without a problem. People are extremely kind and they think I'm still in my 20s so it is easiest to talk with 20 somethings.

You have to be able to hold a non sexual conversation for sure. So many times it turns to what are you wearing or sex talk and that's not fun for me unless I'm already in love with your mind.

I am mostly interested in what's in the mind, so I don't care to see people's pics or cock pics. They can send them but the cock pics will get deleted and I probably won't talk further. I do tend to send them pics though, so I guess that is a bit strange. But like I said, I feel very comfortable chatting via cam if I'm at home, but not everybody can do that.
