Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

“Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.” - Nathaniel Hawthorne
"Slow down, you move too fast
You got to make the morning last"
Simon and Garfunkel

So, I've been a busy little beaver today. Jo took off work, we rose early, 5 am (which isn't early for me, but it is for Jo), ate a hardy breakfast, and drove down to the parental units' house. Before they were up, and as soon as the sun rose, we mowed their lawn and vanished with the morning mist. At 9 a.m., on our way home, Father called and asked if we'd been down and mowed the lawn. I said yes. He said thanks, but why not stay? I said I have writing to do and we need to get back. I could hear Mum telling him to tell her. He grumbled something to Mum, she took the phone she said, your Father has something wrong with him. We think he has osteoarthritis. I told her to give him back the phone and proceeded to rip him a new asshole and ordered him to the doctor. He promises to go see him "next week," which can be interpreted as not on your life. I again told him to go. He said I said I would. So, we'll see!

On the bright side, if he stays active, the pain goes away until he rests a bit. But I think he is really going to go to the doctor. If not, I'll drive down and take to one.

Edit: Wrong thread!

A close look at the signature, and a single search, pins down the illustrator as Arthur Sarnoff (1912-2000). He did a lot of magazine ads, and like many who toiled at such work, was clearly indoctrinated in the maxim that Sex Sells. Yet even in light of this, much of his work seems to have been more sexually provocative than was 'normal' for the era. His working life matches up with the arrival in publishing of nude magazines, but I haven't yet seen samples of nudity in his work. If he did this, it may not have been under his name.

I think attention given to an artist whose work celebrated frisky fun counts as positivity.
