Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

In the early days, I thought I was a hot shit writer. Slowly, I realized I was fair to middling at best, and I have learned to be satisfied with what I am. And I am a holy adequate writer for the stories I write. I write as best I can when the story clicks; it's good (not fantastic), and I'm happy. When it doesn't, well, I got out of it what I put into it. Sometimes, on one story or another, I exceed my expectations, and no matter what the votes say, I'm delighted with the story. Today, I'm satisfied in the extremes with my entry for Crime and Punishment, Vengence is Mine, and the 4.36 score doesn't bother me. It is not an erotic tale, 4.36 isn't anything to be ashamed about, and the comments, while a little disturbing, for the most part, are positive.

Cheers to me, for I thought, I wrote, I conquered.

I feel I’m on that journey too, learning to be happy with what I am as a writer.

“Anyone can achieve their fullest potential, who we are might be predetermined, but the path we follow is always of our own choosing. We should never allow our fears or the expectations of others to set the frontiers of our destiny. Your destiny can't be changed but, it can be challenged. Every man is born as many men and dies as a single one.”
― Martin Heidegger

As we're on the run up to thanksgiving and Christmas, I'd better go and find the recipe thread. It's buried very deep.

Good food is always a positive thing. 😁

Finally October! 🎃
The only thing I don't like about it is the legacy name referring to 'eight' when it's the tenth month on our calendar thanks to some egomaniacal Romans. Apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us!?

Ay ay ay. What a Monday. I need a good dose of this thread. That or bourbon. Anybody have puppy videos or flower pictures to post?
