I have sent several works to editors, one even said he would give it a quick read that night and work on it the following day. That was 2 weeks ago. I have never received a work back from an editor.
Am I missing something? Don't I receive my work back via e-mail?
I am not the greatest of authors ( perhaps I am not an author, if I am not published) That's why I need feedback from the editors.

Sorry you're having trouble, but there's no regulated system here for editors--truth be known most who have their shingles out aren't even trained editors and others could just take your work and run and post it somewhere else as their own. There undoubtedly are some honorable and even helpful folks here to help you get your story in better order--but you are fully dependent on the risks involved. The Web site itself will do nothing to protect you.

What are the genre and wordage of the story you'd like to have help with first? You might just be contacted by someone who will help (if you have your Private Message system turned on).

genre

Dear Sr,

I have 3 stories, the one currently out is a fetish story. I have a group sex one that I broke into 5 sections and a mind control story that is a follow up of the group sex story.

I try to look at the genres in a sideways fashion so I wind up with a new story and not a rerun of all the others in the genres.

Please let me know if you are interested in doing editing for me. I use word documents.

You are more likely to find an editor here if you include the wordage of the works.

Timelord: You sent me questions via the PM system but when I responded there, I found that you don't have your PMs turned on to accept PMs. So, I'll post the response here:

Although I'm professional book editor, I'm not in the Volunteer Editor program (I think it's a travesty) and don't have enough of an idea who the competent editors are at Lit. to recommend one. Most who ask for an editor on the Editor's Forum and give a good sense of what they need edited seem to find help from there. Yes, the way it should work is that you send the editor your file via e-mail attachment; the editor edits it in a program like Word tracking change, which shows editorial suggestions without erasing the original and allows you to accept/reject edits; and the editor sends it back to you via e-mail attachment for you to clean up as you wish and then submit to Literotica.
