Well... it is, so there :p

Though quite why it is celebrated is a mystery... unless we're celebrating the shops being closed, Saviour, or Saving and all that.

I think we are supposed to be celebrating a death, but I'm probably confusing that with some ancient spring festival or other.

I always thought of it as Happy Chocolate Bunny Day. ;) :D

But Easter is shorter.

Aren't we celebrating the fact that He has risen and there's a new beginning (Spring) and He died for all of our SINS and we don't have any left and we are supposed to be better people for all of that? We aren't celebrating the death. We are celebrating the life everlasting. Good Friday is a very somber day. Maundy Thursday was the day of the Last Supper and Good Friday is supposed to be a day of Fasting and reflection. How they explain all this away in the southern hemisphere would make no sense to me whatsoever. But, that's just about all I got out of my Sunday School classes. I'll have to admit--I missed a few.
